When I got the expired visa, it said I had to leave the country by October 3, 09. That was scary. Then I got another letter in my name saying that my temporary permit restoration and student visa had been refused! I never even applied for these things. These people are over-worked and they are making mistakes that affect lives.
This time around, I received two envelopes, one with my work visa which says I must leave the country by October 3, 10. What else is new? And the other said that my temporary resident permit was enclosed but in actual fact, there was no temporary resident permit. I called the office and they said that if I don't receive it by February 2, 10, I should call them again. OMG! I told the lady I needed it to land and she said I approved for it in the system. They drive me nut.
Today when I came home I found this letter...I think this is the letter that the winking officer was referring to the other day. The letter was written by yet another officer. I was being deported by an officer known as Sharon with the help of Russell Macneil and Sal and an RCMP (1998) and so far my file has been handled by Elizabeth Clark, Stephanie, Christine Hutchinson, L Wilson and now R. Jones...
The letter said,
Dear ...,
This refers to your application for permanent residence submitted within Canada.
Previous correspondence informed you that you had met the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status with Canada. It also informed you that a final decision would not be made until you and, if applicable all your family members both in Canada and abroad met all other requirements on the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act as they relate to health, security and criminality screening.
A final determination on whether you meet statutory requirements can only be made at an examination interview. In order to make this determination you are required to attend this office on any Tuesday between 8:00am and 3:00pm.
(Now listen to this...)
If you cannot attend, please write to this office immediately, explaining why.
Failure to appear for this interview may be perceived as lack of interest in permanent residence and your application could be refused.
If you are currently in receipt of welfare or social services benefits, please write to this office as soon as possible explaining your situation.
Please note:
If you are currently employed but were receiving welfare or social services when you submitted you application for permanent residence, please bring proof of employment and income and termination of benefits with you to the above noted interview.
If you have received welfare or social services benefits at any time since applying for permanent residence, please bring proof of employment and income and termination of benefits with you to the above noted interview.
(None of the above applies to us...otherwise I feel I would be in deep sh!t)
They ask that I bring my valid passport and a single photograph.
They say that I should bring my sponsor when they fully well know that they did not allow us to do spousal application because I have AIDS and Bi polar. That being said, my Beloved is coming with me. We picked the earliest Tuesday we could, next Tuesday. Mr. Green
