I hear what you are saying and I am sorry that you are going through so much stuff at once. Hopefully you get a break...meet the Mother Nature half way, she'll do the rest...or God or whoever...
The more I think about this immigration issue, the more I am seeing how they work. For example, I went to immigration with a friend on July 27, 09 to ask what I should do as my work says I MUST leave the country on October 3. The guy there immediately said that the work visa and temporary resident permit were very expensive to renew and that my my file was doing very well. He asked that I delay applying for the work and temporary resident permit because in his thinking, my other papers were moving quickly.
That day, the immigration office wrote me a letter saying that I was eligible for permanent residence. Until I showed up, they were NOT going to do anything. My file would just lie there...I don't know.
The renewal of the work and temporary permit should be done at least 30 days before the expiry of the permit. My plan was to apply at the end of July and and hopefully I would have the papers by October. But no, no, no, I had to wait and when NOTHING happened with immigration, I phoned my lawyer and told him that I was renewing my papers at the 30 days mark, and I did and have succeeded after three months. Imagine if I just waited...OMG!
So for my local immigration office to write me a letter asking for proof that I have renewed my work visa and temporary resident permit is beyond me. Imagine if I was still waiting for my other papers to go through, I would be in deep sh!t. I am planning to go there on the 29th of December which is one day to the dead line they gave me to provide proof of renewing my work and temporary resident permits.
For many many years I have danced to their tune but no more. They will dance to my tune...why not?
That is how they work. Their job is to make it as hard as possible for the immigrants to land in Canada and they do it all with a smile. Mr. Green
