CHARITY  (MINISTRY)

We have GIVEN to BC Children's Hospital since May 2003 on a monthly basis, $25 a month which is $300 a year without fail. We started at $15.  Somebody at Toastmasters said to always mention the amount so that other people are encouraged to donate. I say we, and I was single.

We give in memory of Jacinta (Jessy) - lala salama mami and our niece Mercy Mbiu (RIP). Jessy died in the hands of the hospital, why not give to the hospital and save children's lives?.

I was listening to The Ocean 98.5 FM and it was fund raising for BC Children's hospital.  It was May 15, 2003.  They spoke of a boy who had died, Tyler. RIP. And I said, "No more."  I  MUST do something.

I made the call.  Monday 17 Nov 2003 (my dad's birthday), 9:53 AM. I made the call then and I made a call today, to see why $$ have not been removed since May 2013.

We are now back on track and will have a deduction on December 1, 2013 which is World AIDS Day.  I hope they don't fuck up again.  We get a tax receipt.

And, who is THIS ...  > AIDs?  ... I was born as Minnie, name somehow changed to ... in the school system...all my documents said ....  Imagine how surprised when I went to get ID at age 17 and they asked who is Minnie and they refused my Minnie piece of paper.  They gave me a birth certificate which they used wite out.  That was refused and they typed me a new one with ....  What a mess?.....Passport calls me Minnesh. I guess it is a typo. All these clerical errors... Good over evil.

Under what circumstances did my grandmother Muthoni, who I was named after traditionally  (koma thayu cucu witu), know how to say "FUCK INI" and she never spoke English?  Eh?  I knew how to say "SHIT!" now I have learned more swear ciugo - maneno.  Influence through association.   So, I am not Minnie, I am not ... or at least I don't feel like one.  I would LOVE to know who named me ...! I am not Minnesh passport office in Kenya, I am not Muthoni (had to drop it because I got abused just for bearing an in law's name - ni hanyu - shauri yenyu).   You are on your own.

This blog is about me healing.  And strengthening our spirit ( Kw'am Kw'um S'uli).  As you read me you will feel my frustration and I am not all about anger.  I am a thankful woman.  I thank Canada for giving me health, a husband, education, respite and much more.  I was not just a taker, I have given and will continue to give Canada my all.  When I am not angry, I am a very happy and grateful woman.  The anger I am facing through the writing of this blog is healing.  Following will be contentment and faithfulness will crown it all.  I might be 90 years old by then.

You get angry sometimes - no?  Well I do and I act on it.  Writing is my way of dealing with it. It works.

Happy reading.  Enjoy the videos as well, thanks U tube for your CO-OPERATION!

When I saw the flag of Canada, I saw the blood of Jesus and the holiness of the land. I talked with Praise 106.5 FM in 1999 in that year's telethon or something and told them about my belief. I have not given up hope and believe the blood of Jesus will make this land holy. It feels like milking a rock and we are getting there in God's name.

Martin Luther King's Address at March on Washington
August 28, 1963. Washington, D.C.

When we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

1999/2000, I was laying on my bed depressed here in Canada (never happened in Kenya) and all over a sudden with a volume higher than normal on my alarm clock radio, this song came on and I jolted up...I started living again.
Thank you Praise 106.5 FM for keeping me company during my down times and thanks mostly for shaking me out of it, bit by bit.  The mixture of Kiswahili and English got me. Just like when my late daughter asked me "Mami mbona unanishoutia? Why are you shouting at me? Changed my life.  Melts my heart. Nice touch.  It is all in the way you say it peoplez.  Be creative r. "Religious orientation served as a keystone for both self and community identification; for the Catholic and Protestant immigrants in North America, arguably it comprised of the most conspicuous piece of "cultural baggage" that people transported to the new world. ~"An unprecedented influx": Nativism and Irish Famine Immigration to Canada -Scott W See

I WAS INVITED TO WRITE A PROPOSAL TO GET GRANT UNDER PEERS HELPING PEERS AS INITIATED BY REV Al  (Allen Tysick) at the Open Door down near store street and introduced to me by GRENDA BRADLEY AS A RESULT OF A MEETING ATTENDED AT THE MUSTARD SEED - Connection to freedom,
Christian support group on 25 March, 1999 at the mustard seed.
My name is .... I came to Canada in 1996 to attend the 11th International Conference in Vancouver on July 4. I got pregnant in Kenya in 1989 and gave birth to a beautiful daughter in 1990. My parents did not agree to my having a child outside of wedlock especially my mum. Although I was never asked to leave home, I found it increasingly difficult to stay at home. I ran away from home in October of 1990 taking my two month old Jacinta (Jessy) with me. We rented a small house downtown and I paid rent in 1991 by doing odd jobs that I found.  April of 1991, I was accepted back to college to finish my secretarial course which had been cancelled because of pregnancy. I had been sponsored by National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK). In 1992, it became increasingly hard to feed my child, pay a baby-sitter and get enough money for bus fare and food. We have no social services in Kenya. I became a prostitute and in 1993, as I qualified to get a job as a departmental secretary in the University of Nairobi, I went for a HIV test among other tests to get the job. HIV was optional because of previous behaviour. In 1993, June, I was told I had AIDs/UKIMWI. I was horrified and could not tell anyone.
However, I started telling as many women as I could to protect themselves. I became very involved with sexual harassment in the workplace having been sexually assaulted myself in the sex trade and also having been violated by a relative before age seven and later on being raped. I wrote an article in the leading professional secretarial magazine and also applied to come to the Aids Conference in 1996 when the opportunity presented itself. I got chosen and left my family behind including my then grown daughter. She was 5 years and ten months when I left her. When I got to Canada, I found home and peace of mind. After only five days, I made a daring decision to remain behind and not go back home. I thought to pursue the medication. There is no medication in Kenya. I moved to Victoria in July of 1996 from Vancouver and lived with a friend in Shawnigan lake. Her nephew in Kenya had given me her contact. I stayed there for 2 months and then moved to down-town Victoria where I lived with a family from Kenya. I soon realized that I needed money and started doing housekeeping because I will never be on the streets prostituting again!!! I did housekeeping up to last month when I left everything to serve the Lord. God have been good to me. In 1998, I got caught by immigration for cleaning houses without a work permit (they would not give me one). I got a lawyer through legal aid but then I got picked up and taken to Vancouver for deportation. Two hours before my flight, a lady working for immigration asked me what I had done and I told her that I worked without a permit, that I had AIDs and had lost my passport in December of 1997. She phoned my lawyer and God is good I was released in March 1998. When I came back from Vancouver, I put all my hope and trust in God. I forgot to tell you that my child in Kenya died 3 July exactly one year the day I left Kenya. She reacted to penicillin. She is in a better place. I was put on hardship allowance which is 550$ a month. I moved to Happy Valley and started attending the Western Baptist Church. On June 16, 1998, I went and spoke with Pastor Bob Greene of Western Baptist and I told him my whole life story as much as I could recall. He advised me to tell my family about my illness. I wrote to my family last December and told them and dad and mum and brothers and sister have written back and they tell me to just continue to serve the Lord.
I continued to attend Western Baptist church and on January, Monday 18, I was anointed to a ministry which I had been called to. My ministry which is indeed the Lord's is SEE A NEED, FILL A NEED. I realized I am a missionary from Kenya to Canada. I speak with people on the streets and tell them about Jesus Christ and about HIV and AIDS. The Lord has shown me through the Holy Spirit how my HIV relates to being appointed by God. HIV+, + is the cross of Christ Jesus. He then showed me that the red ribbon is for the blood of Jesus. The red ribbon looks like a fish. We are all fish swimming around and now I have become a fisher of men Hallelujah. I go around schools sent by Aids Vancouver Island and I tell children and the adults how to prevent HIV and AIDS. I have started a group in Aids Vancouver Island which is a Christian support group. We meet next on April 14, 1999 at Aids Vancouver Island Johnson Street between 6-8pm. Pastor Bob would like me to go with my message to a group in Nanaimo. So indeed, I am reaching out beyond Victoria. As a result of moving from Happy Valley to down-town  I now attend the Lambrick Park Church which is not too far from my boyfriend's house. Robert Clark is his name and he volunteers at the needle exchange on Thursday. He is my only family here but I know I am not alone for the body of Christ binds all of us together as a family. I would need money to support my ministry because the hardship allowance is not enough even for my own basic needs. Through EMI where I was admitted for three weeks beginning February 20, 1999, the social worker is trying to get me on disability level II. I hope this works out as the Lord wills. To reach out better, I need 287.00 per month.
It ended up that I was given 90$ per month from 1999 to 2003 when the funding ran out.
I was cleaning our bedroom today when I happened upon this article. I would have to wait another almost 6 years before I would get the final paper which would have a clerical error that would be corrected 5 months after landing. What a circus.  23 May 2013

Thank you Rev Al (Allen Tysick) for being used of the Lord to help me in a most frustrating time.  You helped save my life.  Blessings.

Infected porn stars say the outbreak of HIV infections shows the industry needs to get serious about condoms...Porn actors Cameron Bay and her boyfriend Rod Daily, both of whom recently tested positive for HIV, held a news conference in Hollywood on Wednesday to speak out about the need for condoms in the industry. ~BY DAVID KNOWLES / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2013, 9:33 PM

"As a HIV/AIDs educator, I incognito have watched porn just to see how many were practising safe sex and none of the ones I have studied by typing porn on Google, wore condoms. People forget that there is a period when the virus is in the body, the person can spread it and yet they don't know they have it. It is called the window period. The virus does not show up until 3 months and some people do not show they have the virus until 6 months. It is important to be safe or abstain during the testing time. And all times." MWA - Thu Sep 19, 2013, 7:13 PM...

I was so shocked to see how easy it was to get porn. They have narrowed it down now and one has to register in most of the sites. I like to see action...not everybody should be able to type porn on Google and get it. Think of the children on their phones." ME - Sun 22 Sep 2013 8:58 PM

A friend of mine was telling me that we should let the kids see porn.  What do you think

"Today's child lives in a culture where hard-core pornography abounds. Our children are being seduced daily, and we need to bear this fact in mind whenever we have the occasion to redirect them away from pornography. No healthy parent wants to think about his child viewing pornography, but it often happens. Some researchers have stated that the average age of exposure to pornography is down to 8. Before the days of the Internet, children were typically between the ages of 11 to 13 when they began by viewing soft-core pornography found in magazines like Playboy.

It is also extremely important that parents not direct all their efforts toward their sons at the expense of their daughters. Pornography and other sexualized media can adversely affect girls as well as boys and often leads to significant damage in their ability to form healthy relationships as an adult..." ~ by Rob Jackson

Church meeting to discuss divisive gay unions issue

Updated Monday, October 21st 2013 at 23:00 GMT +3

By Moses Njagih
Nairobi, Kenya: The global convention of conservative Anglicans from 40 countries at the Global Anglican Future Conference (Gafcon), currently meeting in Nairobi have maintained their opposition to homosexuality.
This is even as Archbishop Dr Eliud Wabukala, who is the chairman of the convention, mantained (sic) that controversy over homosexuality in the Church, which threatened to tear apart the Communion of over 80 million, is behind them.
“We have moved on. As a Christian family what we are thinking about now is how we move on as a fellowship of people who believe in Jesus Christ and his teachings,” said Archbishop Wabukala.
Wabukala revealed that the Nairobi convention, which is being attended by 1352 leaders, including clergy and lay people, will be charting the way forward on the controversial topic of same sex marriage in the Church.
“This is part of why we are here. There is a wider agenda that we as Christians are supposed to look at…The crisis is long behind us though the factors that may have brought these issues are still with us,” said the head of the Kenyan province.

The Church leaders were, however categorical that same sexual relationships should not be allowed in the Church, with the Archbishop of Uganda Stanley Ntagali describing it as “a spiritual cancer”....

I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage. But when you start playing around with constitutions, just to prohibit somebody who cares about another person, it just seems to me that's not what America's about. Usually, our constitutions expand liberties, they don't contract them. ~Barack Obama

Music video[edit]

"...The accompanying video was the last to feature frontman Freddie Mercury
as he was in the final stages of his battle with AIDS. The majority of the footage
used in the video was filmed by Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher of DoRo
 Productions on 30 May 1991.[7]
For the promotional video, Mercury, Taylor and John Deacon were
present at the shoot, with additional footage of guitarist Brian May filmed
some weeks later and edited into the footage, as he was out of the country
on a radio promotional tour at the time of the principal film shoot. The
video was shot in black and white to hide the full extent of Mercury's
faltering condition from AIDS, following rumours
about his health had
been at the centre of much media and public speculation for over a year,
following on from its use in the video for "I'm Going Slightly Mad" earlier in 1991.[7]
Colour footage of the band filming the video later emerged,
showing just how frail Mercury really looked, and justifying
the band's decision to film in black and white out of respect for him.
In this music video, Mercury is wearing a waistcoat with pictures of cats
that was made for him by a close friend, and which he loved.
With his knowing farewell look straight at the camera,
Mercury whispers "I still love you" as the song ends, which are his last words
on camera..."

Pope Francis says he won't judge gays

Today July 29, 2013'If a person is gay and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge him?'—Pope Francis

You guyz. In 2002, eleven years ago when I found myself in a lonely place, it was the gay men who came and helped me. They painted my room the green and purple as requested. They helped move my belongings bought me a carpet and a bookshelf and made me a home. Where were the Christians?
It took me FIVE years to come out with my AIDs. Imagine my friends, my brothers and sisters who you call gays have to come out too. It is difficult. I admire the ones that had to come out about who they are and come out about AIDs. It is no wonder many commit suicide. Attitudes like these. Who are called the gays are known by many polite and some not so polite names including TWO-SPIRITED or is that bi-sexual? Too many rules - the simple factor is that we are all human beings. Meant to live in dignity. I am an ally for these peoplez in case you are wondering. I got educated. I can be anybody. They can be anybody. You can be anybody. Best of all, we can all be ourselves. Live and let live.

Some notes from my history class - last semester of 2013

"The utter lack of meaningful freedom for many Black Loyalists resulted in the merging of the term slave and servant to describe blacks no matter their legal status.  The fundamental ambiguity about black slavery and black servitude awaits a much more sustained analysis in the future." ~Slavery in English Nova Scotia, 1750-1810 by HARVEY AMANI WHITFIELD.

"...Peter Martin had come to Government House to relate the violent removal of slave woman Chloe Cooley from Upper Canada across the international boundary to the state of New York.  Because Martin was a Black man and a former slave, he knew that the powerful white men before whom he stood could doubt the veracity of his words. Thus taking precaution he brought with him an eyewitness, whom he produced "to prove the truth of his allegation."  That witness was a White man named William Grisley...It was the general belief at the time that Blacks and the enslaved were untruthful and thus their words could not be trusted...

"...touching the soil of Upper Canada guaranteed the freedom of an enslaved person...

...Cooley's removal from Upper Canada to the United States mirrors that of the removal of captured slaves from Africa.  She was tied up, thrown in a boat, and sold away...  Black women as enslaved persons in the Americas have been beaten, raped, hanged, murdered, and brutalized in many forms..." Cooley was unable to protect herself but she had one thing at her disposal that she could use to express her anger, outrage, and fear - her voice...imagine Cooley screaming, crying, cursing, and straining her limbs against the rope with which her master tied her...she nonetheless enters the historical record as a resisting and freedom-seeking woman..."~ACTS OF RESISTANCE:  BLACK MEN AND WOMEN ENGAGE SLAVERY IN UPPER CANADA, 1793-1803 BY Afua Cooper 14/11/2013 4:12 PM

My History lecturer said in class, "Immigration is not a right and has never been a right - it is a privilege.  The immigration officer has power to let a person in or not." ~Dr. C Lieb. November 5, 2013.  I was very humbled.

Today is double special because it is my beloved husband's birthday and 15 years ago, I started taking medication to help keep my AIDs in check. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Creator for helping Canada help me through the BEST immigration lawyer ever, Mr Peter Golden.  I remember Peter telling me that the second time around I will get in.  Like he was telling me this was doable. And at the same time telling me I don't need anybody to get me in.  We had gone together to see him, my  lover and I.  Good man that Peter.  Did not want me acting out of desperation.  Peter stuck with the case for 12 years.    Since 1998  when I was arrested without being read my rights, when refugee board said I was not fit to come in.  They said one of my writings was fake.  My work which was published in Kenya? They said I was unreliable and untrustworthy.  The prosecutor or whoever that Asian looking man was asked me "Who are you?"  I had never been asked that question before.  I was shocked that I did not have an answer.   In a few hours of intimidating me, it took them years it seemed like to give me an unfavourable answer.  Yeah, Peter sorted it all out.  Peter believed me.  I love Jews.  Saved my miserable life.  Peter got me the cocktail medication.  Yeah.
Thank you Canada for allowing yourselves to be used of the Lord.  God bless you Canada.
I love you - Baby for sharing this YOUR day with me...
Peter, Ma shelomkha?   מה שלומך?  Thank you and peace to you.
PS: The lawyer was paid for by the British Columbia Province legal aid.  I am grateful.

Mixed fortunes as Kenyans chase American dream through Green Card ~ Daily Nation

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2013

"...AFRICAN IMMIGRANTS
The diversity programme makes 55,000 visas available every year to countries with low immigration rates to the US.
Those awarded the visas are chosen by a lottery, with about half typically going to African immigrants.
Republican lawmakers have in the past targeted the programme for elimination, arguing that the lottery system can lead to fraud and undermine national security.
The Green Card may be replaced by a competitive “merit-based” visa programme, which awards visas based on a point system that measures education and employment, among other criteria.
“This would pit us (Kenyans) against the rest of the world in terms of competitiveness. We will be competing with other advanced economies and preference will be for those with PhDs and masters, particularly those who have lived here in America and those immigrants who have their masters and PhDs from American universities,” says Regina Njogu, a US-based Kenyan immigration lawyer.
Ms Njogu says that, if approved, the new merit-based visa will not be in effect until after five years of the Bill being passed into law. However, the Green Card lottery is likely to be eliminated starting next year, depending on the decision of Congress.
“We are at a disadvantage since there won’t be favourable means for continued immigration from Africa,” she says.
CHEAP LABOUR
But the million-dollar question remains: has the Green card programme been good for Kenya in particular and Africa in general?
“This is part of the grand old scheme by the US government to acquire cheap skilled labour from underdeveloped or developing countries.
This so-called lottery programme is nothing but modern day slavery without chains,” says Prof Mark Rogers of Neumann University in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
The costs of processing the lottery visa are also considered high, with medical examination rates alone estimated to be at least Sh24,000. This, however, may go up depending on the tests one is expected to undergo.
The green card visa fee is $330 (Sh28,380) while United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) immigrant fee is $165 (Sh13,860). Since February 1, 2013, all individuals issued immigrant visas overseas have to pay the USCIS immigrant fee before travelling to the US.
The US embassy in Nairobi says the “medical exam fees is generally about Sh20,000, but can fluctuate based on medical condition, required vaccinations for immigration to the US, and other exam factors.
“Considering that one is never assisted in any other way other than to be given a mere permit to live and work in America, these costs are very high. Many people have sold everything they own, including pieces of land, only to come here (US) and realise it’s completely different from what they had expected,” said Mr Johnson Kinyua, a resident of Houston, Texas..."

Mrs Stevenson Halliday and her newborn child died...Chinese were blamed for these tragic deaths.

Immigration acts and public health 1902-1910 bars entry for persons with contagious disease and allows deportation of those who failed the health inspection, and banish and exile those who were morally, socially and physically unfit.

Suspicion of PROSTITUTION  constituted public danger.  Moral reasons could be used to expel immigrants.  Exclusion versus inclusion.

1910 women intending to come to Canada for immoral purposes will be secluded from immigration.

"And a male friend called Rene had told me that the reason I will never get into Canada is because I was a Malaya for a year in Kenya where there is no social services. While I told immigration I used to be a prostitute, I cannot deny the fact that even though they knew my background, they still let me in.  For that, I say Canada Kicks @ss as we continue to learn.  Thank you Canada.  But by the grace of God there goes I.  If I had not told immigration my shameful truth, they could use the prostitution against me.  The truth has set me free.  I thank the Lord.

Notes from my History Professor Dr. C Lieb's lecture - Tues 22 Oct 2013 9:41 PM
Failed harvest.  Irish potato blight.  The Irish immigration to British North America 1815-1830. There was Protestant immigration first.  By 1850, 500,000 Irish had entered British North America.  Vast majority moved to Boston, New York and even Philadelphia   Protestants Irish were financially better, they got land and settled.  They had strong loyalties to the British.  Catholic Irish immigrants were poor.  You might as well say they were dumped into Canada.

Mid 19th century mass migration.  Over 100,000 immigrants arrived in Canada.  90% were Irish Catholics.  Typhus carried to North America on immigrant ships.  Thousands of Irish immigrants die at quarantine stations on Grosse Lle, Quebec, and Partridge Island, New Brunswick.

1840's Dramatic increase in clashes between Irish Catholics and Irish Protestants.  Catholics were like a sheep following a leader.  Like they say Islam does not go with democracy, they said Catholicism did not go with democracy.

1843 - 1850 Irish (Catholics) famine immigration coincides with higher level of unemployment.

"...The facts are these:  Several thousands of immigrants were annually landing upon our shores, they were nearly all Catholic, nearly all ignorant and bigoted  nearly all paupers, many of them depraved.  What have we to expect but murder, rapine..." ~Saint John Loyalist and Conservative Advocate, August 13, 1847.

Race criteria used to describe the Irish - wild turbulent, irritable, treacherous and hardened  natives of cities and mountains of Connaught and Muoster - Laylist, Fall 1847).

The poor Irish immigrants formed a large pool of cheap labour and therefore were taking Protestant jobs.

The Irish were not considered white.  You cannot get more whiter than an Irish man.

Contrary to the Irish who became white even though they were English speaking, the Ukrainians did not become white.  Ukrainian, most outspoken people.

Kenya Warns Unaccredited Foreign Journalists
BY OLIVE BURROWS, 13 MARCH 2013

"The government has warned foreign journalists working in the country illegally that they risk deportation..."

A warning is more than we get when we get deported

without knowing why. Today March 16, 2013.  I found it empowering that Kenya was looking out for itself as much as Canada is.  Thank you O Canada nithengiu.  Together we are stronger than we think.  Look at these quotes if you may.

"Despite this type of racial thinking, black people in the Maritimes created self-sustaining communities based on mutual support and shared experience as seen in the creation of the African Baptist and African Methodist churches..." ~ PAGE 44 The Struggle over Slavery in the Maritime Colonies - HARVEY AMANI WHITFIELD

Page 27 of the above states that, "If there were times of extreme confusion regarding the legal status - or lack of it - of slavery, the black people, slave or free remained quite clear.  Slaves and free black people were regularly reminded that they belonged on the lowest level of society or indeed outside of society all together...Public whippings were administered to free and enslaved blacks alike."

Page 19 " The focus on slavery's peripheral existence and eventual death is understandable  but it underestimates the role black people played in freeing themselves."

Page 21 "As slavery was being eroded, however, the migration of thousands of blacks to the region during and after War of 1812 had created conditions that fostered a new type of racism and bitterness...a virulent form of racism whereby people of African descent faced various forms of discrimination..."

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia On 3 August, 1882, the US Congress passed a new Immigration Act that stated that a $0.50 tax would be levied on all immigrants landing at United States ports. The money collected was to be used to defray the expenses of regulating immigration and for the care of immigrants after landing. The legislation also gave powers to the authorities to deny entry to "convicts (except those convicted of political offenses), lunatics, idiots and persons likely to become public charges." The head tax money was also used to pay the federal immigration agents and independent immigration agencies throughout the United States.

This was taken in May 8, 2010 and I just re-posted it again in black and white today May 7, 2013 almost three years ago.  Do you know which two flags these are?  And, what are the colours on the two different flags?

I am neither here nor there.  I am everywhere.  You may laugh at this photo which was taken after we realized there was a clerical error on the given document.  After waiting 12 years, yes , I got a document with an error - in Canada.  I would have to wait  seven more months before this was amended and then we could plan on flying home and seeing my late daughter's grave.

Immigration flow to Victoria may be impacted - VICTORIANEWS

"The closure of the Victoria office of Citizenship and Immigration Canada to the public on Friday (June 1) may discourage future immigrants from settling in the Capital Region.

Immigrants won't have the convenience of applying in person for temporary and permanent residency or changing their visa status, for example, said James Fultanum, who manages a program at the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society that helps skilled newcomers gain employment.
As well, he said, having fewer immigrants would take an economic toll on the region, employers would have fewer employee choices and there would be less cultural diversity in Greater Victoria...  Regional CIC offices in Victoria, Nanaimo, Prince George and Kelowna are among 19 offices being shuttered across Canada."

It is hard for me to believe that the office in which my case took twelve years is NOW closed.  It was stressful enough with an immigration office down town.  It will not be easy to travel out of town to get immigration help.  There is so much to be done by immigration Canada that I cannot believe they closed down offices instead of opening a few more.

And who are the heros

I was at the cop station today to have my finger prints taken.  The front desk cop was very helpful and showed me a chair.  Within no time I was getting the help I needed.  They opened the door earlier. Finger prints were taken by a lady cop, very gentle in her work.  I did not feel nervous like I usually do.   I did not feel intimidated.  I have always found Victoria Police Department very good.  Immigration officers, that is another story.  That and the good cop, I dislike.  And a mix of immigration officer and RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) not good

White Slavery in America
A Brief History

by Daniel Deville

One thing that is largely overlooked in the history of America is the fact that there were white European slaves. They were in no small numbers either: Close to [1]"two-thirds of the original American colonist came here, not of there own free will, but kidnapped, shanghaied, impressed, duped, beguiled, and yes, in chains...We tend to gloss over it... We'd prefer to forget the whole sorry chapter..." (Elaine Kendall, 1985)

Yes it is true, there was white slavery--even here in America. This was not only in the country's infancy, but lasted until the end of the Civil War when all slaves were freed.

Who were these white slaves? Most were peasants from the British Isles. The nobility of England thought it would be a great way to clean up the streets, to send all the poverty stricken and homeless out of the country. These families were told to choose one of their children to give up or one would be chosen for them...

Radical Reforms are needed at immigration. - DAILY NATION Saturday October 26, 2013. KENYA.

In Summary:-

Corruption, inefficiency and general sloppiness have been an integral part among the Immigration staff.  The recent sacking of 15 employees is the latest confirmation.

We acknowledge that there are already steps taken by the Director of Immigration to speed up services, shuffle staff, ensure vigilance in border control points and generally change the image of the department...For a department that plays a critical role in checking movements across borders and providing identification documents, the rot at the Immigration Department has been left too long to fester...

Nairobi attack: Kenya's President Kenyatta says siege over

Kenya mall attack: Most hostages freed, military says

At least 68 killed in assault claimed by Somali militant group al-Shabaab

CBC News Posted: Sep 22, 2013 5:56 AM ET Last Updated: Sep 22, 2013 6:29 PM ET

"...The first Canadian victim identified was confirmed by several federal departments as Annemarie Desloges, a 29-year-old diplomat who worked at the Canadian embassy. Desloges was previously posted in Delhi, and was off-duty shopping at the Kenyan capital's Westgate shopping centre on Saturday when the militants attacked with assault rifles and grenades.
Desloges has worked for both Citizenship and Immigration Canada as well as the Canada Border Services Agency in Kenya, the offices confirmed in a joint statement Saturday night. She joined the CIC in 2006, then the foreign service in 2008.
"Canada condemns in the strongest possible terms this cowardly, hateful act that apparently targeted innocent civilians who were simply out shopping," Prime Minister Stephen Harper said in extending his condolences to the victim's families.
A second Canadian killed in the attack, which also wounded at least 175 people, has not yet been named.
Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird said he was stunned by the killings of Canadians in the militant attack. The al-Qaeda-linked Somali group al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility for the assault, which reportedly targeted non-Muslims.
"That people could be gunned down in broad daylight in a shopping mall on a weekend is just a tremendous tragedy," Baird said from London, Ont. "And obviously when you have someone who is serving their country abroad, it’s quite devastating. ..."

Our heartfelt condolences.

Lack of jobs push Kenya youths into commercial sex

"To this title I say: I was on the streets for the same reason when I was about 23 years old during the Moi era. Advanced level education and going to college. I wish some things would change. I am 44 years old now and to think these circumstances still go on...Lord have mercy.  A Canadian pointed out to me in the past that perhaps Canada would never let me in with a history of prostitution.  I thank Canada for letting me in so that I can think again about what I was forced to do by an uncaring government.

Yeah. Thanks for the forgiveness. Christ already forgave me. I was out there trying to feed my family - my daughter, her baby sitter, three brothers and a sister and our friends. I was out on the streets for a year. I learned a lot. Remember the root of all this evils was rape at a young age. Having no self worth and possible mental untreated mental illness, lead me to hurt my own body. I had no value for myself. This felt better than hurting someone else. About the condom, if used one time and not the next, that increases chances of being infected with HIV/AIDs/UKIMWI. Dear Cousin Peter of facebook, if I was using condoms the whole time, this would not be. All belongs to God. It was Moi's era and I was well educated without much other choice in a country without social services.

I had to put food on the table and the only peer pressure I had was my girlfriend telling me how can I go broke when I am sitting on a million. I guess it was powerful enough. There was no other way of making money that I could see in that Moi error. I teach my story which is my past so that stopping thinking about the past is not gonna happen and I am only talking about this because Standard is brave enough to bring the matter in the light. I am always moving forward as is God's will." Me

A red van offers help to women who work on Victoria’s risky streets  ~Judith Lavoie / Times Colonist  June 29, 2013

"...While the street population represents only about 15 per cent of the industry, it’s the most stigmatized and vulnerable, Casey said — something that’s borne out by the bad-date sheet handed out by PEERS and other organizations.

“Male hit female sex worker on the side of her head. He kicked her out of his vehicle on bridge naked and threw her clothes and purse at her,” says one account, describing the perpetrator as “Matt” driving an older silver or gold SUV.

Another woman describes a man who told her that women should know their place, then backhanded her across both cheeks.

Victoria’s streets appear to be becoming more dangerous for sex workers, Cunningham said..."

This is happening in a country supposed to have secure social services.  Beats me.

Women are VERY tough.  Enduring. This is one of my heros who went through more than I will ever go through.

Picture dated January 1999 shows 2004 Nobel Peace Prize winner Wangari Maathai, environmentalist and human rights campaigner, carried to the courts after she was beaten by a mob after she confronted private developers that had illegally taken land in the Karura forest. — in Nairobi, Kenya.

Haiya, ati "carried to the courts...." You would think carried to the doctor.  I am so glad Madam Wangari Maathai is a hero to many, me included. Thu 31 October 2013 12:38 PM.  Happy Halloween

It was easy to persecute me without people feeling ashamed. It was easy to vilify me and project me as a woman who was not following the tradition of a 'good African woman' and as a highly educated elitist who was trying to show innocent African women ways of doing things that were not acceptable to African men. ~Wangari Maathai

Girl who uses medical marijuana to help treat epilepsy, seizures

Updated Monday, August 12th 2013 at 17:00 GMT +3
When you think of the stereotypical medical marijuana user,
Charlotte Figi may be the last person that comes to mind.
That's because Charlotte is 6 years old.
She also suffers from debilitating seizures as a result of a rare form of epilepsy,
a condition that's driven the family through just about every possible treatment,
searching for some form of normalcy.
Desperate for options, Charlotte's dad, Matt, told CNN they took her to
a specialist who recommended a highly specialized diet.
That helped slightly, for a while until "at one point
she was outside eating pine cones and stuff, all kinds of different things," Matt said.
"As a parent you have to say, let's take a step back and look at this.
Is this truly beneficial treatment because of these other things?"
With no other choices, the family explored cannabis oil --
an unconventional treatment, to say the least -- but they told KDVR it worked immediately.
According to a blog by Charlotte's mom, Paige,
her daughter's seizures fell from 300 a week to around 3 over an 8 month period.
She does note the program was first approved by a team of neurologists and paediatricians.
Other benefits:
[Charlotte] is consistently eating and drinking on her own for the first time in years.
She sleeps soundly through the night. Her severe autism-like behaviors of self-injury,
stimming, crying, violence, no eye contact, zero sleep, lack of social contact
... are a thing of the past. She is clear-headed, focused, has no attention deficit.
Charlotte rides horses, skis, paints, dances, hikes. She even has friends for the first time.
Her brain is healing. She is healthy. She is happy.
Charlotte is highlighted in a CNN documentary set to air this weekend, in which
Sanjay Gupta, the news network's chief medical expert, engages in a
national conversation about marijuana.
On Wednesday, Gupta apologized for having "misled"
Americans regarding the effects of the drug. He's also penned an article titled,
"Why I changed my mind on weed."

There is hope for Kenya yet in the field of UKIMWI.  Thank you Jesus.

Is there hope for North America and the world

Today (January 12, 2013) marks three years since I got permanent resident in Canada.  I am still not satisfied with my health care here or there.  Let's talk about here.

Written since 2006, concerning medical issues and Victoria Cool Aid Community Health Centre,  Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA)  and sadly, Oak Tree Clinic.

Music is life! It comforted me with my Bi polar and UKIMWI (AIDs), made me sustainable and undetectable. That is better than saying healed. There are a lot of things that amount to a person being wholesome. Medication is part of it. Pharmaceuticals and herbs.  Doctor means teacher in Latin. Ndagitari (DOC!!)

I was just thinking of all the Doctors who have been of help to me. I thank all those that assisted in my birth, especially my Maitu and my Fathii (Ndandi).

 Dr Chris Mureithi,

My Kenya Doctor Dr. Chris Mureithi told me to eat well and have fun as there was no medication for UKIMWI.  I repeat, when my doctor told me I had AIDs, he told me to eat well and have fun and he said to eat especially ugali.  Dr. Chris Mureithi saved my life for another five years before I could swallow a HIV pill.  Glory!!

He kept me as a friend as well as a patient. The many times I saw him after I was said to have AIDS, he did not charge me a cent. He took me out for lunches, gave me money that I never paid back in any shape or form. He used to tell me to seat on the car seat like I owned the car. I was often tense and he noticed. He is the exact friend I needed. In my time of madness, I have written him a crazy note in panic mode. He is now divorced with the mother of his children and last I heard, he had married a young one and when he told, he thought he could detect some unrealness in my laughter. He was right. I will always love him. He gave a wonderful note to support my coming here to a conference in 1996. He said I was fit to work at University even after knowing what he knew. He knew HIV does not mean no work. BRAVO!! keeping it real.

In Heard Island's, it's all in record, I was seeing an Iranian (I think) female doctor. I had to pay her office on every visit with my illegal housekeeping job. I think she ordered Deprovera when I asked for it. I wanted to gain weight as my friend Craig Cohen, M.D. was coming to see me from Seattle. I wanted to look good. My periods were heavy as a result of the deprovera. The other time I had birth control was in Kenya, another deprovera shot to gain weight. Well the deprovera in Heard Islands helped me to get a carecard number even though I had no carecard. I was assigned a number which made it easier for me to get social services coz one cannot access social services without a cardcard number. Thanks to the pharmacist who insisted on calling Health Care for a number for me Thanks Craig, you played an important role in my life and I will always love you and your family if you let me. Don't ask me about birth control coz that is all I know. I have never swallowed a birth control pill or put on a birth control patch. Condoms I have used with NO FEAR. I have a young skin as a result I think. Go ahead and use birth control, I have little against it. Maybe more than I think.

The other doctor is Dr. Elissa McMurtrie She too was a woman of distinctions, Health and Wellness, 2000, YMYWCA, Victoria BC. I was honoured in the same category in 2003. Anyway, I still did not have any medication, they good doctor thought that I had something growing in my cervix. She explained that she was going to do a cone operation, something like coning a tomatoe and she also said she would tie my tubes coz I have HIV. Jesus. I asked her what she was going to use for the operation and she said a knife. Ngai Baba! At this point I told her I am not operable because I have a high virus in my blood. She said that they including herself need to put me on HIV medication. When I went to her next, the horseshoe like thing growing had gone down (miracle) but I still needed what is called leep biopsy. Day surgery. Bob (a chef and musician - I miss him) my roommate at the time came to pick me after and took good care of me until I recovered. Immigration Heard Islands had given me some Interim Federal Health Papers but they were not working. Dr. Elissa McMurtrie, saw me for free each time. No sexual favours asked, nothing. I saw her many many times for cervical cancer could have happened to me.

The other doctor is indeed a group of doctors from the Cool Aid Community Health Centre, Swift Street clinic. The Cool Aid Community Health Centre provides supportive primary health care to those least likely to access the health care system. The centre’s philosophy is to treat people with integrity and respect and to link medical illness with the whole person through acceptance and non-judgmental care. DR. Joe Haegart started the whole thing in Fernwood. His wife is compassionate too. He took care of the mentally ill and was shunned by other doctors but he didn't care. He usually wears one latex glove. He took me in as a patient, I was sent there by the needle exchange people because my first Canadian HIV test showed positive. I pretended that I had never been tested before. One has to begin somewhere. I was not approved for HIV medication coz I was not from here (long process) but Dr Haegart said that I could come there for support. Soon we had Dr Chris Fraser, handsome man, join the team. He is a General Practitioner with very keen interest in HIV/AIDS. Smart, handworking man. I warmed up to him right away and when immigration got it's act together and I could access HIV medication, Dr Fraser was there to guide me through everything, the initial nausea, loss of appetite and the like. When I explained that I was forgetting to take my afternoon pill, he had Neverapine and Combivir authorised for me. It was hard work for Dr Fraser and the pharmicists to get my medication approved. Let's say it was hell. I still see Dr Fraser with pride.

When I went through the miscarriage, all the doctors I saw particularly Dr Foster, (Dr Fraser was away), were very helpful. The lady doctor said that whatever I was going through was not my fault. Very consoling. When we finally saw Dr Fraser, he shared his own story of encounters with miscarriage. What's not to love?

Dr Fraser used to see me for my Bi polar too (he did well and we had heated arguments). A semi- retired doctor Dr Stovel, is looking after mental health patients in Cool Aid Community Health Centre. He himself has suffered depression for years (you would never know) and has taken a prescription given by his friend for close to twenty years now. He gives me hope to carry on. Today we went to see him at 9.00am but the clinic was not open (You'd think a doctor would have a key). Anyway, he was waiting for us near Street Link (where my streets linked at one time) and we went out for coffee. I asked him if he was buying and he said yes. Phew we had no money. He and I had a mocha while Ryan had an Americano but what he had really ordered was an espresso. Oh well. Across from our table, I could see a guy looking at us and writing stuff down. After we had finished the meeting and I suggested that next time we have lunch, I went to the guy and asked to see what he was doing. well, he was drawing Ryan and I and he gave us the drawing and I asked if he minds if we put it on the Internet and he said no. He had a wedding band on his finger. He made me look older than I am and that's just fine. Maybe I get old when I am in meetings that concern my mental health.

Other doctors were Dr Jeff Barber, he explained to me that just like I cannot stop my HIV medication after feeling better, the same way I have to continue taking my mental health medication. He told me very quietly, clearly and precisely that I can CONTROL my mania. It is easier to do so if on treatment.

There is another doctor I don't remember his name. The very first doctor that saw me in the ward when I was first admitted to mathare in 1999. He asked me if I heard voices and I said no. He asked if the TV was talking to me and I said yes. He seemed relieved. From then on, I weaned myself off watching TV. Too much commercialism. Eww.

The other doctor that has touched my life is Dr Song, I think he understands my mental case because he is not white - no bad intentions. I am comfortable with DR. Song. I love you all white doctors don't flet.

In Kenya, working in med school I brushed shouldiers with many Professors of medicine and many lecturers of medicine and many student doctors who I saw become doctors, and I have not been the same since.

The fairest of them all is my departed Professor Aggrey Omondi? Nyong'o. There is no doubt that this man loved. He had to argue with immigration Heard Islands in Kenya to get a visa to come see me. He told them he does not know what I was doing but he knew he wanted to come and see me. He told me things that give me strength today. We took the airporter to town, I went to meet him at the airport and alighted at the Douglas Hotel when we got to town. I think we then took a taxi to Maplewood. He would remind me of alcoholism everytime I drunk kung'o. He was NOT drinking. He liked corn on the cob and walked every morning to the intersection of Cloverdale and Cook and bought a newspaper. I saw him at night coz I worked cleaning during the day. If I had known those were our last moments together, I could have taken time off but then I would never make it to pay rent and that correspondence secretarial course I was taking to match Heard Island's standard. Bull sh!t. He got in touch with Good Old Professor Don Penner, who I went to see while I was at a conference in Winnipeg. I was glad to see his wife too. She told me their daughter died of cancer. Pole sana. One thing I remember of Aggrey, he read out loud everything he saw, signs, kila kitu. I copied the habit but I read with my inner voice. I still laugh like him sometimes...short heaves of laughter...

The other doctor has has influenced the lives of many HIV/AIDS patients is Dr. Julio Montaner,Director of the B.C. Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS. He has been appointed president-elect of the world's leading independent association of HIV/AIDS professionals. CONGRATULATIONS JULIO!!They could not have picked a better man. Some of my friends see him directly but I don't KNOW that my trip would be covered by social services since I am not from here. Oh well, I see him in conferences and such. Ndukamake Muthoni Uyu. Ya Mungu ni mengi.

Last but not least is my acupuncturist, Todd Howard, B.Sc., R.Ac I get the service for free. Talk about caring people.

I would also like to mention Dr. Goulde (sp) and Dr. Shrikhande...and not forgetting Dr. Douglas Hutchinson (sp)
Thank you Lord for surrounding MWA with GOD SELECTED HEALERS.
I can talk a lot more since this story.
That was 2006.  Todd would later tell me thaat even though he knew I was trying to be pregnant, he went ahead and did acupuncture which he said is a downward motion which can cause and did cause a miscarriage.  Mother Fucker!!

I may have left a doctor or two and everything must be on file.  Look me up.

At some point in 2012, I went to Vancouver to Oak Tree Clinic and got a laboratory requisition.  They have more tests on the requisition than I have seen before.  I explained to Dr Fraser that I wanted to simplify my life to which he said, "don't we all."  I told him about the requisition form and he told me to leave it at the front desk.  I don't know the name of the lady that I dealt well.  It was not Jackie or Jessica.  The next day when I came for laboratory work, my piece of paper was missing.  And still missing.  For that reason, the idea of simplifying life has gone out the window with me doing laboratory work elsewhere.  I live 5 minutes from your office.  Why should I have to catch a bus to the hospital when you can do the work under one roofs.  Pap smears and all that good good.

In the past, a doctor has called the hospital and cancelled the lactic acid test which is relevant for the kivexa medication that I am taking.  How can I trust that the same doctor will not call the hospital again and cancel laboratory tests that I need.  It has been three years since the run around with immigration Canada and I am not about to start another round in regards to my health.  I like the services at your office and that is why I have never said anything before.  I have been well cared for and that is why I  am still alive.  I thank you and your office.

Dr Fraser wrote me another requisition which I am going to use. By having not to go to Vancouver so often, I am saving the government some money - or somebody.  It would be helpful if I only had to go to Vancouver for special tests like bone density as opposed to getting test results which I  can get here.

I had an appointment with my mental health doctor on 27/12/2012.  I missed family gatherings for this appointment.  I called your office to confirm the appointment and I was told that the doctor had cancelled.  I booked another appointment in which the doctor was asking how come I missed appointment?  It is sabotage which I asking you to help me.  I am one of the people surviving people from 1997.  I know respect begets respect and the opposite is also true.  Please tell me where I have gone wrong and what we can do to make sure everybody feels worthy.

I am complaining about the pattern of disrespect.

Why can we not include the spirit and the alternative medicine and save some lives? Sat 5 Sep 2013 12:49 PM

"...Dr Mutheru doesn't believe that treatments should be an 'either-or' choice. She refers patients undergoing biomedical treatments to healers when they feel that they need "cleansing" or additional reassurance. But, she emphasises, they should continue to taking their prescribed medication whilst they see traditional healers.

The idea," she says, "is to work together, to work as a team." ~BBC News, News Health

I started my first AIDs medication on November 5, 1998.  I was very grateful for them.  I was started with D4T, 3TC and Crixivan. After a while, I kept forgetting the middle of the day medication and I was put off all medication for about an year.  In about 2000, I started combivir and neverapine also for AIDs.   I was on that medication for about 8 years and my doctor did not clue in on the fact that my fatigue was caused by the medication.  It took a replacement doctor and a visiting specialist to figure this out 10 years later.  If you had not gone on your little work vacation, I would still be fatigued Dr.  You can see why I shy away from you Dr.  8 years on very uncomfortable medication.  Since then I have been healthy on Neverapine and Kivexa.  Thanks for doctors that pay attention and know their stuff.

And one of the people in Kenya that has HIV among the ones I saw was taking Combivir in Kenya.  We give them what we discard.

I saw a few people with HIV when I was in Kenya in 2011.  One Rono had his eye sink in! and his sister Wangari was taking Efavirenz - Lamivudine (3TC which I had rejected in 2000)/zidovudine.   Until they are well, I am not well and none of us is. Word.  My neighbour who was my tutor struggles on with the disease.  You can see the fear and uncertainty in all their eyes. 14/11/2013 5:44 PM

What happened to our rights.  Like "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood."

About the following medical reports, I asked Jackie at the clinic last year for these reports.  I wanted my whole medical history and some of it was in storage.

Credible Pawfia Hulk of facebook had told me we can get our reports anytime.  Jackie did a great job of printing what she could until Dr Fraser told her that I had to see him to discuss what I wanted to do with the reports.

I just wanted to have my results.  Like recently done by Dr Haegart  August 6, 2013.  Other reports are on me as well.

A normal CD4 count can range from 500 cells/mm3 to 1,000 cells/mm3. At least I have half normal having began at 80 in 1998 and viral is undetectable thank the Creator at  under 40.   That number has been pushed down from about 750000 right away in 1998. It is a miracle. I must look for ways to boost the immune system. Exercise will help reduce stress which will help strengthen the immune system. Sorry guyz I cannot tell the rest of the story it is being tampered with.  Let's work with what we got.

  Note by Dr. Haegart.

Below and above are  3 examples of a good Dr's report.  Kudos.
Brian Conway MD and Jim Farrow MD changed my fatigued life by changing medication that caused chronic fatigue for eight years.  Thank you Doctors.  Unfortunately the other reports are not so encouraging.

Look at this report   here deeply - there is a lie.  Can you point it out?  Ngai Baba.  I am just reviewing the reports now.  Shock.  June 15, 2013.  Liar.  I never complained of paranoia as mentioned on this report.  What to do with you?  Total fucking disrespect....obsessions?  And what has the reggae wig got to do with it?  Nyasaye, Murungu!!  I don't know what you mean by "degrading images on computer" -Sir.  Even if I had those obsessions, I would NEVER tell anybody leave alone the doctor who is not discreet even with his imaginations.  God, I am mad.  What is the point of talking to you.  You have written that I have agreed to having unrealistic plans?...  How encouraging coming from a doctor.  Hint of jealous?  We do serve the same Creator.  Or? Ama?
...In your face Christopher.  (Today, Thursday November 13, 2014), I was spotted by Doctor Chris Fraser at the clinic.  He said hey, I smiled.  And then he bumped into me and he asked if I was keeping out of trouble.  I replied, "I try not to..."  People around laughed and I am not so mad at Dr. Fraser anymore.  Why should I carry a burden that he does not seem to bear?  Right?  Forgiveness is a value of mine.

So, who are the heros?
How do rumours get started, doctor?...
It must be a cultural thing between I and the Canadian health system.  Even my make up raised eye brows.   I told the doctor that I was wearing the sparkles to stop me from crying which was true.  He was stuck on the sparkles.  Doesn't he know a Gal's gotta do what a Gal's gotta do?................ And depending on my costume and mood, my mental medication would be readjusted.  Imagine.  And, I have always been committed to therapy - well I never had to take medication for life before.  The initial HIV regime was very complicated and I told the doctor who kept me off medication for a long time before giving me combivir and neverapine.  I had reached high virus of  over 750000 per milliter of blood.  Were it not for God's marvel, I could have died.  And, when I wanted to get off the mental health medication, he was telling me that I can get off the other medication (HIV) as well.  And he continued to write on reports that I was missing doses.  Basically writing out of his ass.  Sun June 2013, 9:16 AM.  Happy Father's day.
I never felt like my life was out of control.  I always had Jesus carrying me through the sand.  GOD!!

The time it takes to prepare to go to the gym, the common colds one can get, the cost of the gym, all got me buying the training machine. 10 monthly visits to the gym would be enough to get a machine.

I am writing this piece for about the sixth time.  They keep deleting it and giving me better practice in writing.  The story is I am supposed to go to Vancouver for speciality care every three times a year.  There is a form that pays for the bus to the bus depot there and back.  That is all the help one gets and maybe that is the only help one needs.  Who do we think we are -
All that would make my trip is to have  an escort, they have allowance for that.  I am very anxious person travelling alone.  I have fear of getting lost.  So, if this happened for me, I would go the three times a year - every four months.  Please give me an escort and $10 for cab there and $10 back to the bus depot.  No unnecessary pills please.

We are not allowed to sleep over and so we make the trip on the same day.  And we have HIV/AIDs and God knows what else, bi polar and everything.   I wake up in the crack of dawn to make my 1:00 PM.  Sometimes the pap smear lady is not there, sometimes I take coffee as soon as I arrive at the doctor's office and my pressure is high and she wants to medicate me with HCTZ and statin  for my cholesterol which I can exercise out of ?  She does not give me a chance. I told her it is the coffee and she said next time I go to see her I should not drink coffee.  I have never been back.  Pill pusher. Jesus!! June 7, 2013 4:15 PM

Look what was delivered to my home.  An elliptical trainer. Tue 24 Sep 2013.  Keeping healthy with the Creator and without HCTZ or statin.  Shove them. And,

I am starting this journey at 158 pounds which is 72 kilograms. That is how much I weight in my late daughter's pregnancy. I was married at 160 pounds, 8 years ago and I have kept that weight on mainly due to zyprexa. I need to get to at least 145 pounds = 66 kg which is my medical weight according to a website. When I arrived in Canada, I was weighing 130 pounds and looking good and it was not wasting from AIDs. Wish me luck. Wed 25 Sep 2013 11:49 AM
The doctor told me yesterday that BMI (Body Mass Index) is good. I was getting a little worried in case I was wasting from AIDS.  My zyprexa was reduced by half, causing me to get rid of all that weight.  I am glad it is not AIDS, God just gave me my shape back.  Ha!
Today, March 4, 2015, I am 134 pounds!

Regarding...

Dear Dr. Stovell,

While you were away, ... was robbed at the store she works at. Three men with clubs came in wearing masks. Nobody got hurt, but ... was very disturbed by the event.

... seemed ok at first, but she could not sleep. After about 3 days of not sleeping things grew worse. She began showing signs of mania.

I started giving her a does(sic) of seroquel in the morning and at night, it had no real effect. ... and I decided to go to the hospital as we could not get a hold of you. They gave us sleeping pills that also had no effect. After trying the sleeping pills for 2 nights we went back to the hospital.

... admitted herself to EMI [Eric Martin Institute], first in the ward 4a, but within 2 days was moved to PIC [Psychiatric Intensive Care]. I am having trouble getting answer from them, every time I visit she has an entirely new staff watching over her, nobody seems to spend any time with her. Her doctor is rarely around.

I asked for a day pass to take ... out to see you and they declined saying she was not fit to leave. I feel that you now(sic) ...'s personal history better than these doctors and nurses. I know that ... will respond to you much better than she is with the strangers.

For example when they tried to give her olanzapine she argued said 'Dr. Stovell doesn't want me to take that'. They forced to with an injection.

She has asked me to contact you and arrange for you to visit her.

Both ... and I have respect and confidence in your abilities and your concern for .... We do not share the same feelings about the hospital staff. They seemed understaffed, and for them is just business of usual. They do not know her personally and if they do they are replaced by another nurse with a day or so.

I can be contacted at ***-****. ... is currently on the 3rd floor of Eric Martin, in the lock down area.

Her recovery seems slow, please do .what you can to help her.

Sincerely,

Ryan.

This is the place where it happened. We are talking about the whole process of testing for HIV/AIDs from beginning to end. I was embarrassed.

Mon 14 January 2013 (10 dayz after I started going to campus) 12:15 PM - Wacha nikimbie, I am going for a HIV test to see if mine is gone because I feel greater than ever. The process of looking for a place that could test was tedious and this is North America. When I got there, I had to fill out my name and address. I was the only patient. No line ups for tests. I was given an STI Clinic assessment survey 2013. No pre counselling. Asked if there was an encounter I wanted to talk to her about, asked when I had sex last, if I was having anal sex - Jesus. Was very gentle with the needle. Was a doctor. A lady. Results 3 days with name, 7 days with number. Maape!
Today at around 10:45 AM Mon 21 Jan 2013, I called the clinic and told them I had a number for results. The person who answered the phone said that she could not get to the results because the nurses where not there and they will not be there until between, 1PM - 4 PM. Very depressing. I will have to try and call again. Waiting for results is not easy and calling to see if results are there is not easy either and I have to call again - in North America.
Bonface Odhiambo of facebook: Y is it dat hard?
ME: You would expect a place like North America to have everything in place regarding HIV/AIDs testing. Hesitant people may fall through the cracks. You see? With shaky hands I take the phone and call the clinic at around 1:50pm. The nurse Julia ask me my name...I thought I had a number. Then she tells me that my syphilis results are in and those are negative (read between the lines) and I should go in person to get my HIV results. She tried to talk me into getting the results tomorrow. Imagine that. She is obviously not the one waiting for results. I am going there right now.
I was greeted and asked to have a sit. I was genuinely nervous just in case the test results were negative for once. I was called in and after sitting down I was told my test results were positive. I did not react. The nurse asked me if I knew and asked if I had a partner to who I said we use condoms. She asked if he had been tested. She asked what brought me to get tested in the first place. I asked her what I should do next and she said that was a good question. She talked about how we will contact my doctor and how their nurse who is knowledgeable will talk to me about HIV. She wanted me to fill out some forms and at that point I told her I had to leave. She could not give me my test results on paper because I opted on the number instead of name thing.
That is no post counselling. Fuck you guyz.
So, who are the heros?

I went all the way - Look at the date I am supposed to get results....Maybe somebody should have told me to use protection while I wait for 2014, June. Oh I see, it is a clerical error. God.  Life costing fucking clerical error.  Fuck shit.

Talking of clerical errors, I heard on the CHEK NEWS about a man whose wife died of breast cancer and he ordered the Bank of Nova Scotia to put his dead wife's $80000 in RRSP to his account.  A simple procedure that is normal did not happen and they lost a customer.  May his wife's soul RIP. MENTAL HEALTH (under health care - MINISTRY)

My diagnosis should be "Just Very Slightly Mad" as the song by Queen goes.  And medication adjusted accordingly.  Serious Dr. Shrikhande.

I have been to the mental hospital seven times total in Canada.

I am praying for fellow mentally ill for lack of another word and really shocked that our country Kenya has only 25 Psychiatrists. They must be over worked. Lord have mercy especially with care at Mathare Mental Hospital. I have been hospitalized 7 times for mental health here, they told me I was ill at age 30...I cannot imagine if it was Mathare. Again, at least it was not in unlivable Mathare Mental Hospital in Kenya, thank the Lord.  More than anything, I am glad to be home listening to music like this...

Courtesy of the best Boss ever, wonderful friend, professional Prof Aggrey Nyong'o RIP - Road accident robbed another precious life.  "This is a segment from the 14th episode of the 3rd season, which  aired in 1978." ~ Utube.  I was 10 years old and would NOT hear of the song until my mid 20's
And 2013 Halloween, my cousin found these characters.

So, who are the heros?
"What I did in my untreated state was not my fault."  In The Flesh -TV Show. Sat 28 Sep 2013 10:27 PM

1. I was watching the wizard of oz (should have watched The Wiz - movie first...) when the green witch (did not have a name for it.  Never seen one in real life or fiction) came out of the TV and started pressing on my chest and I was shouting to Jesus while everyone thought I was swearing. I asked that 911 be called.  1999.  You see, I went to school with little Asian and European children up to grade 4.  I thought they pooped brownies, cakes, cookies  or what we called biscuits - and chocolate.  I love white chocolate, white cake, ...  Way to dampen my brownie experience.  We went to school in dresses checked blue and white like Dorothy.  That is not the point.  Toto is a fond name meaning child in Kiswahili.  Cathy used to call Jessy Toto.  I was in Canada watching a movie and therein was a tiny dog called Toto.  Jessy had died, Cathy had died - panic attack.  First ever attack - I say JESUS ("He ruled this city without ever holding office" The demons of Divinci (TV show)), they think I am swearing.  Cultural issues. Too many memories pushing inside during the movie. Green creature who I have NEVER seen before, please don't eat me!!  Rudi kwa TV in Jesus name. Fuck, stop pressing on my chest ...Mbwajike! OMG, I am dying.................comes 911 to the rescue.  (Thank you Jesus - my fuck)  and I visited a mental institution for the first time from the inside.  Creepy.  And parents put on this movie for their children to watch?  The North American child is brave.  I was 29 years old.  I pee-ed my bed until I thirty years old.  Must be to do with the various rapes.  I am healed now thank the Lord.

My broda ooo Newton adds, "the way they used to spite us that we have wooly hair, thick lips, receding forehead and incapable of rigorous thought and that anything abstract is a problem to the African. Would have thought they have forever been civilized." 24/10/13

2. I went to somebody's home at 6.00am and they called the cops 2000

The cops picked me up at the friend's home.  He was a school teacher.  I was taken to the mental hospital and put in a small room...then it happened, a group of men wearing blue uniform came and started beating me up.  There was lots of them.  I was manic and I fought very hard.  Then a woman came in and I noticed her cross on her necklace and I stopped fighting.

They stripped my dress off my orange outifit.  They tore it off.  Leslie (knows Bob and Janice)  went to have it mend and I never saw it again.  It was a gift from Mrs. Terrell who I cleaned for.  I miss the dress.  Well, they saw quite a sight for I had no bra or panties (could not always afford them).  Then I hang my head in shame, spread my arms out like Jesus and crossed my legs at my ankles and they left me a lone.  Soon after, I was admitted.  For the second time.

I was saying things like "Praise 106.5 FM, Montel Williams, Oprah...."  Anybody who could help me.  And they did not hear me.

What are official visiting hours in this continent and what are the procedures of going to visit.  I thought Kenya style works here and apparently not.  Hodi?  Ingira, kai kwina thina tondu woka ngware.  Reke hagire gacai.  When I was being led to the polica van, that is when my friend was asking me if I wanted tea.  Everything said and done, my friend handled the situation very well.  He is a teacher after all.  Thank you M. Fraser.

3. I told the dog to get out of my clean kitchen and the cops were called.2000

4. I was wanting to jump off the balcony on the 7th floor. I ran outside to the ground level and was speaking Kiswahili and Gikuyu and the cops arrived. 2004

5. Robbers came to my work place and I ended up in hospital. Ryan and I turned me into hospital. 2006

6. I told Ryan to take me to the police station and the police decided I was ill enough to go to the hospital. 2006

7. I had not slept for 5 days and five nights and was admitted to hospital on August 3, 2010 to September 21, 2010.

In October 2012, I was getting ill again and had my zyprexa increased and now I swear I am sustainable.  And I dare risk  singing:-

My diagnosis should be Just Very Slightly Mad and medication adjusted accordingly.  Serious Dr. Shrikhande
What I cannot believe is that Kenya has only 25 Psychiatrists. I have seen more than half of that since 1999 in my journey with the mental issue Bi Polar. It is like racing of the mind, thinking about something for a very long time without a conclusion. Sometimes thinking about a number of things at the same time. It is worse than I make it sound.

My husband's writing
Posted by: HighInBC Jan 26 2006, 12:02 AM

In the past, year 2004, I had a wonderful girlfriend, she was great.

Her name is '...', she is a wonderful attractive spiritual woman from Kenya, Africa.

She told me of her history of mental illness. At a certain point she became very upset. I had only been with her a short while, only a few months, when she slowly started to become manic.

I had no experience with such conditions so I tried desperately to diffuse the situation myself. I could not, within a few days of the first displays of manic behavior I could not hide it from the public anymore. The police came and took her to the local mental hospital, the "Eric Martin Institute".

That was a hard time, but by the second day she was clear of mind and I could take her out on day passes. Soon she was released entirely.

Since then...

I knew that the love I felt for her was not temporary and I married her, fully aware of her health problems. We have been married for 8 months and things have been going very well. We have been trying to conceive a child. She became pregnant then had a miscarriage at 6 weeks.

She handled that very well. I expected she may have a mental relapse then. She did not. She was the bravest woman I could imagine. She felt sorrow at the loss of child without losing control.

Many weeks later, she was robbed where she worked. Three men with wooden clubs and metal pipes came in wearing masks, they robbed the money from her workplace. Nobody was hurt physically.

It seemed at first that ... was alright, she seemed calm and relaxed. She did not sleep however. By the fourth night it was clear to me that her mental state was deteriorating.

With her agreement she voluntarily admitted herself back to the same hospital she had been forced into before.

In many ways things are better this time. ... admitted herself to the hospital voluntarily, and she was clearly aware that is it was a mental disorder that was making her act so strangely.

While in the past she has gone to the hospital after a major hysterical breakdown and very quickly recovered. This time she had gone there before a major breakdown and appears to be getting worse.

I don't seek answers or even advice, as I know that any useful information would require much more information about my wife. I just want people to talk to me. I need to hear about similar situations others have encountered.

Please tell me of anything similar that has happened to you. Tell me if it turned out well or badly. I love my wife very much, but I am willing to listen to truth even if it is not favourable.

Sincerely,

Ryan

Stripping mothers claim their place in history ~STANDARD Digital

Updated Tuesday, October 8th 2013 at 21:51 GMT +3
By CAROLINE WAHOME
Love is one of the best gifts that a mother gives to her children.  A group of ordinary women that staged a hunger strike in order to press for the release of their incarcerated sons not only proved that, but also claimed a place in Kenya’s history of struggle...
On the fifth day, the government did what few expected. Police carrying batons, guns and teargas invaded Freedom Corner to flush the women out.To protest the brutality, some women stripped naked in front of the police, many young enough to be their sons.
“One of the most powerful of African traditions concerns the relationship between a woman and a man who could be her son. Every woman old enough to be your mother is considered like your own mother and expects to be treated with considerable respect,” Maathai wrote in her autobiography, Unbowed: One Woman’s Story.
“As they bared their breasts, what the mothers were saying to the policemen in their anger and frustration as they were being beaten was ‘By showing you my nakedness, I curse you as I would my son for the way you are abusing me.’”
Maathai died in 2011, aged 71.

Dr Shrikhande's writing.

At the moment I am on 900 mg lithium and 5 mg of Zyprexa also known as Olanzopine.  I would wish to be off this Zyprexa and I understand I need it to function.  Maybe one day when I am more sustainable, I may get off it.  Who knows?..........(23/10/2013)

He (Dr Shrikhande) said that I was "...totally inappropriate..."  This was because I was so upset and flashing my breasts.  Tell me if a photo of a topless woman is totally inappropriate.  Some parts of Africa have women going about their chores topless.  Remember Wangari Maathai?

AND WHO ARE THE HEROS??

                                                                                                                                  Sat July 31 2010

Female activists to observe Gotopless Day
"In Bali, some women often went without anything covering their chest until late in the 1940s."

Below is a write up on Wangari Maathai and stripping and shaking boobies.  I was not even stripping, just flashing my breasts in disgust.

By Amy Goodman Democracy Now! March 8, 2005 Amy Goodman: Can you talk about why more than ten years ago, you stripped naked with other women in the streets of downtown Nairobi?

Wangari Maathai: I should say, I personally did not want to strip naked, but some of my colleagues did, and the reason was that particular incident was an incident where in the course of many years people, young people, especially young men, who were trying to reintroduce a multiparty political system in the country, who were advocating for greater democratic space, had systematically been picked and thrown into jail. Many of them had been tortured in torture chambers that had been created in a building that was immediately opposite where we had camped. The building is called Nyayo House. And the mothers of those sons came to me and asked me if I could join them to demand the release of their sons. That was in 1991, towards the end of 1991, when the multiparty system was reintroduced, and as a result, there was no good reason where all of those people, all of those young men who had been jailed because of their political activities, should have been in. And so I joined them and I became like their interpreter. We went to the government, went to the Attorney General, the Honorable Amos Waku, and we told him, now that we have reintroduced the multiparty system, now that you have said that it's okay to advocate for greater democratic space, all of these sons there were about 52 of them at that time that we knew ...should be released. We requested him to do so, to facilitate. We went to this park, which is the Freedom Park, Uhuru Park in Nairobi, in one little corner, opposite that building, and we camped there to wait for the sons. And it was while we were there that a lot of people came to that site, and they started giving witnesses of how they had been arrested, sometimes on trumped-up charges, sometimes due to misunderstanding, how they had been taken to those chambers, how they had been tortured, and men were crying tears because of the experience they had gone through. And that was the very first time that people had found space to talk about their persecution, to talk about the oppression of that government. I think that we just threatened that government to its roots, because for the first time we had created space for people to talk about how their rights had been violated.

Amy Goodman: And the significance of undressing?

Wangari Maathai: The significance of undressing was that when the government unleashed its terror on us, and the people who were with us there, several hundreds of them on that day, the women in the traditional African demonstration of anger and frustration by women, when women are confronted, punished, threatened by men who are old enough to be their sons, that's extremely humiliating, because whatever you do as a man, you must not touch your mother. You cannot beat your mother. You cannot hurt your mother. So, what these women were doing to these soldiers is to tell them, I curse you as my son for the way you are treating me, and I'm your mother. ... what the statement really is, that some women stripped naked, other women can shake their breasts. It's a way of telling young men that you have violated one of the most sacred codes, that you never touch your mother.

"African women in general need to know that it's OK for them to be the way they are - to see the way they are as a strength, and to be liberated from fear and from silence." ~Wangari Maathai

"I will be a humming bird, I will do the best I can."  Wangari Maathai

"If we are going to shed blood because of our land, we will.  We are used to that.  Our forefathers shed blood for our land...this is my blood."  My Hero Wangari Maathai.  Muah.
It's the little things citizens do. That's what will make the difference. My little thing is planting trees. Wangari Maathai

I agree I get mad from time to time - and it is cultural how I behave when mad...  You are the best in Psychiatry Dr. Shrikhande.  If you can understand where I am mistaken, then we have a way forward.

“I thought," Shad said slowly, "that she was offended if you referred to Blind Seer or Elation as her pets."
"True," Derian assured him. "Absolutely the correct etiquette—to her face. However, well… When I first met Firekeeper, less than a year ago, her relationships with animals fell into pretty much two categories: those you ate and those you befriended. I remember that she thought we were pretty clever for bringing horses along so we wouldn't need to hunt our meat. It took me a while to show her they had other uses.”

Train Crashes Into Kenyan Bus; 11 Dead

Nine dead in train-bus crash in Nairobi ~ Daily Nation By ZADOCK ANGIRA

At least nine passengers have died after a Dandora-bound train hit a bus at an unmanned level-crossing the Mutindwa stage in Nairobi's Buruburu area Wednesday morning.
Several other passengers were injured when the train rammed the Umoinner bus that was heading to the city centre from Umoja. The 33-seater bus also hit other private saloon car, injuring the occupants.
The injured have been rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment.
TEMPORARY STRUCTURES
The temporary structures constructed along the railway line at the crossing near Mutindwa market make it difficult for the drivers to see approaching trains at the crossings.
The structures are still there despite the government’s earlier plan to conduct large-scale eviction of people living and operating businesses along the railway lines.
The government had planned to also undertake large-scale demolition of structures that purportedly present a risk to the occupants of railway line operational corridors and households living near or under electric power lines and way-leaves or are in the way of planned bypass roads.
Those to be affected most were hundreds of thousands of people living in informal settlements such as Kibera, Korogocho, Agare, Lunga Lunga, Sinai, and Soweto.

Ngai Baba, ebu sikia, "Apart from major disease killers, Kenya has a serious problem with accidental death, specifically by motor vehiclesKenya has the highest rate of road accidents in the world, with 510 fatal accidents per 100,000 vehicles (2004 estimate), as compared to second-ranked South Africa, with 260 fatalities, and the United Kingdom, with 20. In February 2004, in an attempt to improve Kenya's appalling record, the government obliged the owners of the country's 25,000 matatus (minibuses), the backbone of public transportation, to install new safety equipment on their vehicles. Government spending on road projects is also planned."  From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As of December 2010, Kenyan Government policy is to phase out minibus matatu in favour of larger, 25+ seat buses. It could take ten years to clear them from Nairobi streets, however.[11] As of early 2012, there may be few matatu stations remaining in central Nairobi as a result of anti-matatu regulation. Regardless, the minibus is still the primary form of transport in the city.[12] ~ Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Police blame accidents on funds ~ Daily Nation By JEREMIAH KIPLANG'AT

Statistics showed that 2,425 people had died this year alone, which is higher than the deaths recorded over the same period last year. Traffic commandant Samuel Kimaru informed MPs on Monday that the deaths were still going up despite efforts and several safety campaigns launched to curb road accidents this year.

The figure is higher than the recorded 2,389 deaths over the same period last year. In 2011, the figure was much higher, hitting 2,516 in the first nine months of that year...Mr Kimaru said that the department had only 2,500 traffic police officers against two million vehicles and 600,000 motorcycles on the roads....Mr Kinyanjui, a former roads assistant minister, was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta last week to chair the authority created specifically to streamline the transport sector in a bid to make it safer and more organised. (KENYA)

Accident claims six on Eldoret-Malaba road ~By MAZERA NDURYA

Six people were killed at 6pm following a road accident along Eldoret-Malaba road when a saloon car carrying nine people collided with a truck while overtaking a bus.
Three people were seriously injured and taken to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The area traffic commandant Humphrey Abayi who spoke to the Nation said among the dead were two children.

June 13, 2013 Do vehicles do more harm than good? How about lack of well maintained ambulances? Lack of a vehicle can kill a life and I have lost way too many people of mine in car accidents. RIP.   Does western medicine do more harm than good?  My daughter died of a penicillin reaction.  Better Nelson Mandela whose ambulance only broke down, there was NO ambulance to rush my daughter anywhere! They strapped her on the baby sitter's back sent them in a bus and told her to tell grandma she needs to go to another hospital.  She waz dead mother fuckers.  My poor mum, the poor baby sitter.  The poor nurse who has to do the act of tying a dead child to the back of another child.  *sigh*  I was over here.

In Memory of Alice, Carlos and the two boys. (RIP) I wonder where Alice daughter is.  They were from Embu.  She and Carlos worked at the hospital and they fed me food to give me a solid foundation for what I was stepping into.  Motherhood.
This is the hospital where I was born and Jessy was born. We can confidently say we come from Nazareth Ha! My mum and I should compare notes - must have been tough for her 20 years ealier.  Pole mam. Why was I not there to hold my baby's warm yet dying body...?  Can I do something, anything to make it worthwhile why I was not there?  These thoughts go through my mind.
Mourning that could have lasted at most a year took over 10 years in a strange country Mama.

Just knew who Whistleblowers are in North America perhaps the whole world.  Where I come from we blow whistles to alert danger.  We use them in dances as well. June 11, 2013

whistleblower (whistle-blower or whistle blower)[2] is a person who tells the public or someone in authority about alleged dishonest or illegal activities (misconduct) occurring in a government department or private company or organization. The alleged misconduct may be classified in many ways; for example, a violation of a law, rule, regulation and/or a direct threat to public interest, such as fraud, health and safety violations, and corruption. Whistleblowers may make their allegations internally (for example, to other people within the accused organization) or externally (to regulators, law enforcement agencies, to the media or to groups concerned with the issues).
One of the first laws that protected whistleblowers was the 1863 United States False Claims Act (revised in 1986), which tried to combat fraud by suppliers of the United States government during the Civil War. The act encourages whistleblowers by promising them a percentage of the money recovered or damages won by the government and protects them from wrongful dismissal.[3]
Whistleblowers frequently face reprisal, sometimes at the hands of the organization or group which they have accused, sometimes from related organizations, and sometimes under law.
Questions about the legitimacy of whistle blowing, the moral responsibility of whistle blowing, and the appraisal of the institutions of whistle blowing are part of the field of political ethics.  ~From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"...The government has confirmed that a military ambulance carrying Mr. Mandela had engine problems and was stuck on a highway in the pre-dawn hours of June 8 as it tried to bring him to a Pretoria hospital after he reportedly suffered cardiac arrest.
The 94-year-old anti-apartheid hero was kept alive by medical staff and transferred on a stretcher to another military ambulance after the roadside delay of about 40 minutes on the highway between Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Officials insisted that Mr. Mandela “suffered no harm” as a result of the ambulance breakdown..."  ~GEOFFREY YORK JOHANNESBURG — The Globe and Mail Published Last updated

Somewhere over the rainbow - Dorothy.

Yes, and you know what else, in between all of that struggle, even on bad days, you still went out and gave support to a community full of stigma and discrimination. You spoke to children and gave them inspiration and realizism that this could very easily happen to them. You were and still are an admired individual for your strengths, your weaknesses, and perseverence even in the face of un-speakable odds and what at times seemed an unwinable fight. I cherish the fact that i even know you, and that i got the chance to get to know you. Luv to you .... I hear ya. Big hugs.~Ruby Black of facebook.

I wanted to name her Vivian Nyambura (as I was not getting married - the naming system is something else in my tribe in Kenya  without having a child with a Mozambican refugee.  Her father said she is Jacinta Zuere Barros.  To be fair to both my mother and my mother in law, I called her Jacinta Nyambura.  Her birth certificate read Jacinta Zuere Barros.  Names,!  I learned about my daughter's name in 2000 when I read books at Chapters for free.  I don't think one can sit there and read any more.  Those were the dayz.  Knowledge hunting.

I begun to understand my daughter even in her demise.  Still learning her.

International Women’s Day marches around the world call for an end to sexual violence

While-as my last rape (for life I hope coz I will kill somebody) was at the Department of Human Pathology, University of Nairobi, medical school by Late Prof Jasper Mumo, the University of Nairobi never paid me my FINAL dues after being there for three years even though my messenger  (uko wapi) had done all the final paper work for me which included galloping to all campuses and being cleared. When I left, I was cleared.

Ask Mary Mwangi of dental school. She was my assistant. July 1993-July 1996 was my service time. Somebody should remember...me Mureithi was the records clerk and Mbugua maintained the building. K retired. Rachel?

400 years (400 years, 400 years. Wo-o-o-o)
And it's the same -
The same (wo-o-o-o) philosophy
I've said it's four hundred years;
(400 years, 400 years. Wo-o-o-o, wo-o-o-o)
Look, how long (wo-o-o-o)
And the people they (wo-o-o-o) still can't see.
Why do they fight against the poor youth of today?
And without these youths, they would be gone -
All gone astray

Come on, let's make a move:
(make a move, make a move. Wo-o-o-o, wo-o-o-o)
I can (wo-o-o-o) see time (wo-o-o-o) - time has come,
And if-a fools don't see
(fools don't see, fools don't see. Wo-o-o-o)
I can't save the youth:
The youth (wo-o-o-o) is gonna be strong.
So, won't you come with me;
I'll take you to a land of liberty
Where we can live - live a good, good life
And be free.

Look how long: 400 years, (400 years, 400 years) -
Way too long! (wo-o-o-o)
That's the reason my people (wo-o-o-o) - my people can't see.
Said, it's four hundred long years - (400 years, 400 years. Wo-o-o-o)
Give me patience (wo-o-o-o) - same philosophy.

It's been 400 years, (400 years, 400 years)
Wait so long! Wo-o-o-o, wo-o-o-o.
How long? 400 long, long years. /fadeout/

54 Canadians caught up in child sex webcam sting

The international children's rights group Terre des Hommes says it has uncovered dozens of Canadians willing to pay to watch a 10-year-old Filipino girl perform sex acts on a webcam during a sting operation.
The Dutch wing of the global organization says it has identified 54 Canadians among more than 1,000 adults from 71 countries whom it caught looking for webcam sex tourism.
A spokesman says all the names have been turned over to Interpol...

Kenyans demand gang-rape justice in police petition

Police wrap up probe into girl’s gang rape ~Daily Nation

Police in Busia say they have completed investigations into gang rape and violent attack on a school girl more than three months ago.
Butula criminal investigations chief Shadrack Bundi on Wednesday said the officers were planning to send their findings to Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko.
“We are preparing to send the file to the office of the DPP for further instructions,’’ he said.
But even as he spoke, the officers are yet to arrest six suspects said to have raped the Standard Seven pupil in Tingolo Village on the night of June 26.
To conceal their crime, the suspects dumped the girl in a pit latrine from where she was rescued by villagers.
The matter was reported at Tingolo AP Camp and it was recorded as assault. Three suspects who had been arrested by villagers were released after being made to slash grass as ‘punishment.’
The 16-year-old girl is now confined to a wheel chair for what doctors say is a spinal injury and has developed fistula. She is admitted at Gynocare Fistula Centre in Eldoret.
On Wednesday, Kenya National Commission on Human Rights Chief Executive Patricia Nyaundi demanded the immediate arrest of the suspects.
Nation Media Group has launched a campaign to support the pupil (who we named Liz), and has offered to meet her medical expenses, which doctors at Gynocare put at Sh600,000.
Well-wishers can also send donations for Liz’s medical care to M-Pesa paybill number 500944, account 161616.

AND WHO ARE THE HEROS??

The girl (below) singing is me in black AND WHITE.  Me singing in a black and white photograph.    I was singing, "Nituhande mbegu ciitu, Mwathani agoka kugetha. Gugagituika atia agiuka, agiuka Muthamaki, gugagituika atia agiuka. Nituhinge maitho maitu, tutikone miago ya thii, miago ni magerio, maria marehaga mbaara. Gugagituika atia agiuka, agiuka Muthamaki, gugagituika atia agiuka."

I am six years old here. I wonder if I had been raped then. Have you ever been raped?  If yes, I am VERY sorry and I recommend that you tell someone you trust right away if you have not done so already.  It is the first step to healing.  I wrote my first rapist when I turned 40 years old.  He did it before age 8.  He never wrote back.  I basically told him I knew what he did to me.  Maybe you have been raped one time, a hundred and fifteen times, fought off a rapist, you are not a lone and it is not a competition of how many times this has happened.  It is a matter of healing, stopping it and moving FORWARD.  Rapists should be removed completely from the face of the planet.

I strongly think my uncle should be beaten senseless and then given a lethal injection. Look what else I just learned...I just learned this about my uncle who raped me...
"Astonished to hear that.

Our uncle has that habit I dont where he got from.
There was a time he was sleeping with his daughter that je [sic] married his wife with..." Anyongwe. Kasia takataka.  Tue 18 June 2013 10:54 AM

He did it to me and it took forever me to speak out Peter Lubia (Facebook) and I never told anyone until I was 17 and was raped some more by other rapists. I did not openly confront him with anything but the note of when I turned 40. Sasa, he was fucking his step daughter....I was quiet for too long - no more...I am doing what I have to do in Jesus name. By God I feel responsible for the poor girl's damage. Anyongwe.

I used to think all men are beasts and then I remembered I had five brothers and a dad and also, I still need to get fucked by a man. See? Cannot live with them, cannot live without them...Gosh is right.

And yes, I shall not be the first to throw a stone and will take punishment where I am wrong. I am just saying because I was silent for so long, he was available to do this to his step daughter...I blame myself.
I still know the song in black and white and the moves 38 years laterz. This song was for Sunday school competition and we had been told not sing it elsewhere and what was I doing? yelling it to the masses. That's me. Always speaking up!!  Until I was chocked by rape?  Silence.

Ngai I was underage, below age eight.  I blame myself because when late Jessy was three years old, she asked to play with me and I yelled back "NO!!".  She said, "Mami, mbona unanishoutia?"  She mixed English and Kiswahili to ask why I was yelling at her.  She shocked me because I had never confronted my abusers be it physical, sexual or verbal abuse.  I know better now.

This is the envelope I sent to Kenya to my rapist uncle. Mon Aug 11, 2008. He received the note and never replied. It basically said that I knew what he had done to me years back. I had turned 40 and I was not happy. I asked the Lord why I am not happy and He showed me that my uncle is the root of my problems. So I wrote him. Time and distance is a blessing right now. I wanted to see him when we visited in 2011 and it did not work. I am usually angry at him. God help me.
I confess with my mouth that this matter still annoys me. Imagine aliendelea kufanya my niece. Was I quiet too long...or had I left enough clues behind when I left. Clues that I was disgusted. And when I came  here, did I not continue to send literature home? Haya, yote ni ya Mungu as you say. I love you. It is done in JESUS NAME Sir Raidon of Facebook. Done. Yet I have to repeat it as I teach so that others can find peace. Thank you.

There is an urgent need to completely rethink prevention, law enforcement, prosecution, social responsibility, media and everything on rape.

I hope these girls will NEVER have to go through rape.  I hope and pray.  Photo taken Sept 2011 in Lari, Kenya.

I went to law school. And I became a prosecutor. I took on a specialty that very few choose to pursue. I prosecuted child abuse and child homicide cases. Cases that were truly gut-wrenching. But standing up for those kids, being their voice for justice was the honor of a lifetime. ~Susana Martinez

You think about child abuse and you think of a father viciously attacking a daughter or a son, but in my family it was my mother. My mother, I would say, was a... very brutal disciplinarian. ~Lynn Johnston Posted 25/10/13

Dad used the belt  now and then and said "damn you" a lot.  I thought demew was a bird.  When she said you will see (kwona thoguo) when dad comes home, that meant dad would use the belt on top of the killer punishment mum instilled. You could tell dad's heart was not into the shit.

Take I

I hit my late daughter once with a slipper as they call it. She had drawn on the wall. I had not brought her drawing papers. They were the least of my concern. She was eating food and thinking it was to do with food, she started eating faster. I could not hit her again. Not after the shock I saw on her face and the awkwardness I felt. I stopped hitting her since. I myself was a product of the items shown. To be able not to repeat what was done to me in whichever quantity is a move forward. May she RIP. ~Facebook January 20, 13

Take II

I hit my late daughter once with a slipper.  She had drawn on the wall.  At the time she was eating.  Without explaining myself, I hit her and she started eating faster, faster thinking it was to do with food.  We were both so shocked at the impact that I swore never to do that again.

I was also a yeller and my elder brother would tell me I shout too much at Jessy.  Until one day Jessy exhibited her own self worth and asked why I was shouting at her. My body shook and I wanted to pick her up and drop her down the balcony.  Anger from generations past.  (Jessy is my hero) I had to kneel on one knee and explain to her that I was ill and was going to die.  1993.  This was where we broke the cycle of abuse between my 3 year old daughter and I.  I explained deep things to her and told her not to tell anybody.  When I lay in bed she would tell the children playing downstairs to keep down it her mum was sleeping!!  What a burden to put on a three year old friend?  Good Lord!!  Sweetheart Jessy, sorry and...,

A culture of silence is a very dangerous culture. ~Beloved Ryan  Feb 22, 2013
And it would happen...years later that I would be teaching: Like on Feb 22,26,28 April 5 and 8, I am teaching HIV/AIDs prevention to children at St Michael's University School where I used to clean the main school house 2004. Lord give me strength, You be glorified. This is my best suit of all the suits you have given me. Speaking. Let me wear it well, with dignity and respect. Haya I have been teaching in schools since 14 years ago in Canada only. Old journey, renewable any time...  One cannot talk all the time, talking also means listening so one has to shut up to listen...that is not the kind of silence my Beloved husband is talking about dear. He is talking about oppressive silence. You see me in the wedding photos, (1974), I am singing and then I am quiet when I have already said my piece. Complete silence is fatal. Utakufa bure.  - see?  I just spoke a whole bunch, not quite clear what I am saying and I am talking.
Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one's definition of your life; define yourself." ~Harvey Fierstein

HOMELESSNESS (Ministry)

Chek news (Sun 20 Oct 2013) said there is an initiative to end homelessness by 2018.  Thank you Jesus for hope.
Today Sat 29, Jun, 2013, I was watching CTV News.  They reported that Canada has approximately 30,000 homeless people every night.  There are 200,000 who experience homelessness every given year.  3000 of them are on the streets.  Others maybe staying with people for a short time.

Homelessness is a problem that is not going away.  The CTV News was wondering how this could happen in a socially secure country.  Welfare rates have not gone up in a decade in Ontario and the rent keeps rising and people are hungry.

I say a hungry man is an angry man and where we See A Need - We will,  Fill A Need.  That is what SAN-FAN Educational Group is all about.  We help where we can.  God anointed work.

It does not seem like we are going to go out of mission any time soon, Lord have mercy.

4 July 2013 4:44PM, there is a God because on the 2 July, 2013, the Victoria Cool AID Society said they plan to solve homelessness. (ACTION)

I believe there is a God. On Saturday 29 June, 2013, CTV talked about homelessness. July 2, 2013, Hallelujah!!! This happens on Times Colonist - There is nothing to say but, There is a Creator...And.....ACTION.

For many on the streets of Victoria, it is not an act like I was doing on this October 21, 2012 photo. Homelessness is a serious problem that needs serious urgent measures.

COMING OUT OF THE DUNGEON (MINISTRY)

May 27, 2013

I used to smoke cigarettes starting slowly in Kenya in the late-ish 90s. When I got here, I smoked freely. In 2002 I went to a sweat lodge where you are in a structure with burning coal and you sweat off impurities. I had never done such a thing before and I will try anything once. Am that kinda gal. When I got home, I started using the patch to get off smoking and used the cigarette money to buy patches. I had little money left for food and started going to the mainly for homeless people's feeding place the Upper Room now long gone. Soon I had enough money to buy food tickets $26 a month which I did for five months after which I was not buying patches or cigarettes and could afford to buy food and cook at home. That's my testimony of how the Creator helped me to quit smoking cigarettes and start taking care of my body through feeding it a balanced diet. That was 11 years ago (2002) and going strong.  Thank you Creator - we did it.

Wake up kid, it's half past your youth

Ain't nothin' really changes but the date
You a grand slammer, but you no Babe Ruth
You gotta learn how to relate
Or you'll be swingin' from the pearly gate
Now you got all the answers, low and behold
You got the right key baby but the wrong key ho, yo

Well I woke up this morning
On the wrong side of the bed
And how I got to thinkin'
About all those things you said
About ordinary people
And how they make you sick
And if callin' names kicks back on you
Then I hope this does the trick
Cause I'm a sick of your complainin'
About how many bills
And I'm sick of all your bitchin'
Bout your poodles and your pills
And I just can't see no humour
About your way of life
And I think I can do more for you
With this here fork and knife

Chorus:
Eat the Rich: there's only one thing they're good for
Eat the Rich: take one bite now - come back for more
Eat the Rich: I gotta get this off my chest
Eat the Rich: take one bite now, spit out the rest

So I called up my head shrinker
And I told him what I'd done
Said you'd best go on a diet
Yeah I hope you have some fun
And a don't go burst a bubble
On the rich folks who get rude
ÔCause you won't get in no trouble
When you eats that kinda food
Now their smokin' up the junk bonds
And then they go get stiff
And they're dancin' in the yacht club
With Muff and Uncle Biff
But there's one good thing that happens
When you toss your pearls to swine
Their attitudes may taste like shit
But go real good with wine

Chorus

Believe in all the good things
That money just can't buy
Then you won't get no belly ache
From eatin' humble pie
I believe in rags to riches
Your inheritence won't last
So take your Grey Poupon my friend
And shove it up your ass!

Chorus

Eat the Rich: there's only one thing they're good for
Eat the Rich: take one bite now - come back for more
Eat the Rich: don't stop me now I'm goin' crazy
Eat the Rich: that's my idea of a good time baby

So, who are the heros?
I took myself out to eat last night. I wanted East Indian food. There is such a place nearby. I wrote a few things while I was there:
I go there without thinking I am a black unaccompanied female with a rasta hat. They want to sit me closer to the door and I say no and ask for another table. As I wait to be seated and as the one guy cleans up my table, this other guy in a green shirt comes with attitude asking how he can help me. I told him I had come to eat. I was so mad and all I could say was "goodness" and "thank you" to which he said welcome and I was seated. That is when I thought maybe the guy thought I came to beg. I was suddenly black and alone. Nobody working there was East Indian. The soup was like salted yellow water (lentil soup) I had one bite of the samosas and brought them home for a second chance. I told the guy serving me to tell the other guy I was NEVER coming back. He said he knows the other guy well and he has never done such a thing - I did not care. Feb 28, 2013
I hate the soup...Ate the bread, will take the samosas home. Will NEVER come here again. Fuck you sizzling tandoor restaurant on Johnson. The drink was fine. Thanks for nothing. Initially I wrote:
I am having a nice outing. Only when I showed up, they were going to sit me near the door and I said no and choose a table I wanted to sit at. It had to be cleaned. Then as I wait, this not East Indian guy comes and say with an attitude ATI how can he help me. I had my rasta hat on and told him I was here to eat. He realized a table was being cleared for me. I was feeling angry so I said "goodness" and "thank you". He told me I was welcome. First course, two samosas - lamb and then lentil soup and roti.
Jaclyn Overstreet's response to the above was: "You should never allow someone else's assumptions & behavior's ruin a moment of your life. That terrible samosa & soup, will only make the next wonderful samosa & soup-that much better. Your too precious to throw pearls to swine my dear." Tracey MacKinnon said: OMGoodness My Sister, I'm beyond words atm. Im so shocked & stunned this happened 2 one of the most amazing, inspiring, beautiful & proud women I know on this planet U showed UR True Colours by not stooping 2 his level & being a lady! he should be fired! 4 treating someone (especially right after Anti Bulllying Day, yesterday) like this. Aqua Regia

It was a brisk April morning in 1940, and George was in a fix. In his hands were two Nobel Prizes illegally smuggled from Germany, while outside the lab Nazi’s swarmed the streets of Copenhagen. Denmark was now occupied by the Germans, and it was only a matter of time before they entered the Institute of Theoretical Physics and searched the building.
The medals belonged to Max von Laue and James Franck, Germans who had won Nobel Prizes in Physics some years ago. Their names where on the medals, and taking gold out of Germany was almost a capital offense, carrying a punishment not to be sneezed at. George was certainly not sneezing, but his palms were sweating as if he had a fever and his heart was pounding like a drum. There might be only hours until Nazis found the medals, and his neck would certainly be on the chopping block along with theirs...

Matthew 7:6 "Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

Matayo 7:6  ‘‘Msiwape mbwa vitu vilivyo vitakatifu, wala msitupie nguruwe lulu zenu. Kama mkifanya hivyo, watazikanyaga kanyaga na kishawatawageukia na kuwararua vipande vipande. ”

Mathayo 7:6

"Tigagai kuhe magui kindi kiria kiamure o na mutigaitire ngurue ruru cianyu, itikae gucirangiriria na maguru, icoke imugarurukire imutihangie."

 AND LIFE STILL GOES ON

So, who are the heros

If you did not know by now, below is my medical diagnosis.

I was given Desiderata at about 16 years old by Rev. Gathambo.  Thank you. I always have a copy in the home. 18/11/13 10:45 AM

The song sayz: This tree you see was planted by the great grand fathers and we did not know it was as sweet as honey. When he was detained, that is when we said take care of it so as not to get a curse. 40 years tending it, lazy people say to burn it or make it to firewood. Don't feel bad, Remember that some animal dies so that the children may live. Kimathi died at the bottom of it and we his children will always eat the fruits. Brothers and sisters, this is not a swing, whoever swings with it Kirinyaga it can burn fire. Those who do not know it , it has three colours, red, green and black and all are MAGAMBO.
Tigai gwicokia.  NGIRI IKUAGIRA  MUKUYUNI CIANA ITURE MWOYO.

Round and a round we go. The only thing stopping me from
packing up and returning to Kenya is my Beloved,
and the terror like the invasion of the Westgate mall
which left over 170 injured and about 70 dead
{Last week of September 2013}, health care and paying taxes.
Taxes help in social services.  The more taxes paid depending
on the country, the better the services and conveniences.
I don't want to be taxed and not see results. Here or there?......
Would have to settle for both countries.
Both have taught me a whole lot that I can teach globally.
It is over why I fled Kenya. Abuse of many years to the
country will take many years to heal.  There you have it.
Thank you Jesus.  Thu 11 Apr 2013 12:21 PM

What I don't understand is why this land that has European descendants does not have awe for God while their forefathers disrupted our way of worship when they brought their God to us. Really makes me wonder what went wrong and when...

Gene Dreyer of facebook: "The religion of the Europeans is that which comes from tribal cultures. It was the Roman Empire and it's version of Christianity which came into Europe and destroyed their tribal ways and wisdom. Today many of European descent are trying to recapture their tribal ways. This is why they are so sad to see what Christianity is doing in Africa to tribal cultures...At this level one can communicate and share easily between cultures and religions."

The First Peoplez here make me understand the intensity of the madness our fore fathers went through.  The blood of Jesus washes as white as snow - and this country knows snow.  Remember the snow of 1996 - six months here - I had already seen the flag - now I was seeing snow live live. The only snow I had seen were on Mt Kenya and the Aberdare Ranges.  21 June 2013.

My Value:  KINDNESS (MINISTRY)
Yesterday when I was coming from home campus, the bus driver Ron, driving bus number 9399 and arriving on Douglas at 8:45 PM, let a guy in the bus even though he did not have enough money.  I mentioned that kindness is rare and very nice to see.  I asked him about another exceptional driver Phil and he said now Phil trains other drivers.  I met Phil on the bus. Wed 20 Nov 2013 8:28 PM

I was kind to somebody on chat yesterday when they said they were thinking of their father of whom a photo had been posted on facebook and caused him to be down they told me about their past with women and that they do not do that any more. Like I was interested... Kindness is natural for me. My dead grand parents were kind, my living grandmother is is extremely kind. Kindness is all I know and kindness is what has brought me this far and kindness is all that the world needs if the world can accept kindness or even understand kindness..

i joined facebook 6 years ago because I wanted to network. I was happily married then and even happier now. I don't want you and my kindness is not a search for flirtation. My beloved praises me all day long.

I have been mistaken. And this will not stop me from accessing facebook. It is one of the tools Christ uses to reach out to people. My kindness is just my kindness and that is it. I am not looking for anything, everything I ever wanted I have and more. Even if I had nothing, I would still be fine.
My village where I come from in Kenya is kind. I am just in North America where they don't understand pure kindness. This is very disheartening and as my beloved said, I can always ignore this person.  And my parents are kind like those before them - so fuck off.  (not you dear)
Asante Rose Muhando.  Mungu akulipe - naenda zangu.  Mungu atanilipa kama ulivyo nena....nishapoa.  Thu 17 Oct 2013 2:46 PM

I know a song which says in part,  "Do what you do and don't look at another person, none can show you the way. Even if you took a rope and killed yourself, some will tell you that you are doing awesome. If you talk they say you are a gossiper - if you are quiet they say that you are a fool. If you are wise and quiet they call you a hypocrite . If you are wise and you talk, you get the name Nyohoro. The crowd, leave it alone it defeated Moses. The crowd does not get satisfied, it sold the Saviour money, money, pesa."- Insert: Salim Junior - Kirindi.

Muslims, saved...my life.  They were there for me, they   I had Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (Ppcp0
Allah - ala...asi... I cannot write nothing!  Help me Lord! You are GREAT!!
There is a rat in the kitchen what am gonna do? I am gonna
fix that rat.
I am having trouble writing this piece and the Gods are with me.  The Force,
I mean.  Muslims saved my life in 1992 at first by Sir Hussein.  He was an acquaintance.
One day he saw me with my head on the coffee shop table.  He asked what was wrong and
I told him I had chest pains.  He told me he knows a chest specialist.  He took me to Dr. Chris
Mureithi's office.  That is how I met the good doctor.  He prescribed argumentine for two weeks
and asked me to come back at the end of the dose.  I never went back until 1993.  I was a single
mother with no money and I felt the meds from Hussein made me feel better.  Anyway, Hussein
paid the doctor, paid the medication and made me a home cooked meal and never asked for sex.
He watched me the whole night until we woke up to the Muslim prayer at 5:00 AM.  When I went to see
Dr. Mureithi a year later (1993 to get medical for work), he told me I had Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia
(PCP) when Hussein brought me in which is AIDs defining.  I could have died.  Dr. Mureithi asked me
to get tested for HIV and I was positive. Damn! And in the AIDs stage!  I was 24 years old and a single
mum to a toddler.

At this point, I was  working for some Muslims.  They were the first people I told the news.
They told me I would keep the job as long as I wanted.  They sent me for a western blot
(confirmation test) and it too was positive.  I was with them for six months total.
Then I got my job at the University in 1993.  The Muslims and the doctor were a key
point in my dying dayz...then I lived...thank you Atufa, Mohammed and Atif... Respect.  Heshima.
Fri 4 Oct 2013 12:33 PM Assalamu 'Alaikum.
The following are such sweet voices, they are Muslims. They teach children to sing to:
"children of the world, how Islam will unite us all..." children grow with the
Creator/Allah/Yahweh/.../Mother Earth, Goddess, Satan - ingrained in them or not.
Why fight laterz?  What happens to the little boys and girls of all faith when they get older?
Why the terror - you just wanna unite...? right? If you kill us all, who are you going to unite with?"
ME?  Count me out of the mass suicide.  Pliz! All truths lead to one. Good over evil.

Take I.  Kenny Rogers and Dolly Partron, have always been there in there songs. In primary school I had two panties that Mama made for me. One day the elastic fell off and the underwear rolled to the ground. I stepped off it and put it in my pocket. Later that day we were doing flips for PE and I forgot I had no panties. Teacher- male. English teacher. That is the teacher I told a few years later while I was in advanced school,  that, that I would AVAIL myself.  The  English teacher said AVAIL means to make myself available.  1986.  17 years old.  Did he have it and give it to me or did I give it to him from a rape when I was 13.  I was raped up to about 7 times in my life.  God forbid another - I'll kill them - Both people, the teacher and rapist of when I was 13,  have died of AIDS complications. Primary school was not easy. I didn't know when to fold!

A fairly good example of how a limitation or restraint works in creative process occurs when a sculptor attacks granite with hand tools.  Granite resists such attacks violently.  It is hard material - so hard, that in granite it is very difficult to do something bad.  It is not easy to do something good, but it is extremely difficult to do something bad - in granite that is.  ~Charles Eames.

“Eventually everything connects — people, ideas, objects...the quality of the connections is the key to quality per se...I don't believe in this 'gifted few' concept, just in people doing things they are really interested in doing. They have a way of getting good at whatever it is.”
