Dear Jon,

Thank you Jon for a journey that I thought we had together. I have writing a blog since 2005. It was not until 2013 that I started to see that the TV during your show and that of Stephen Colbert, was talking to me. I was concerned because when I was first admitted to a mental hospital in 1999, the doctor asked me if the TV was talking to me. For saying yes, (the TV would ask me if I had an idea?) I was diagnosed as Borderline Schizophrenia. Next visit to the mental hospital, I was told I had Bipolar. I never really experienced the powerful force of the TV speaking to me until 2013 with Stephen Colbert. That is when the TV actually came alive for me.

Thank you for keeping me very busy. I had just started a Intercultural Training Education programme. I know I am writing to Jon and cannot help mention others. Jon is the Head. Jon, your leadership skills show in every person you have worked with, including if you count me. My life became upbeat, I had quality shows to watch. I could not tell anyone that the TV was talking to me in different shows because I did not want change of medication or diagnosis. TV is/was talking to me. I was no longer depressed in bed. BIG AMEEN! I formed a routine where we woke up, have coffee, a toke and watch the shows. And wait for the next show and suffer absence of shows through the weekend and a Monday. I had school terms and holidays and the shows, and writing, purposeful. There is a real disconnect when you leave the show Jon. A real disconnect.

That I am obsessed by the shows is true. The men are held in high regard and they make me laugh alright?. The shows including that of John Oliver and Larry Wilmore, keep me going. All through the day I am aware that a production is being made. I go through the day or week knowing that something new is being created. That gives me hope and it interrupts my mania when I am caught in a thought process that does not seem to have a solution. And that is my definition of mania.

Jon, most of the times when you addressed FOX News, I thought you were talking to me. I would flinch and quiver, without showing, which is a different mood from laughing, and still a mood. Then when you started addressing TRUMP, I switched my thoughts from clicking to FOX News and started clicking to TRUMP. Always comb your hair kinda thing...I don't always comb my hair, it is a nuisance.

The coolest thing is that the 4 of you guys managed to get a huge load of depression off me. Huge. Like a car battery that needed to be jump started, you worked on my heart and spirit, body and mind. My heart would beat fast with excitement, fear or even rage. I never knew what was going to happen. I just know I am not the same any more. I am better, thank the Creator. I have a strong beating heart. It has been tried, tested and true. My job was to keep writing as I could not share with anyone my being spoken to by the TV. This is unlike anything I have ever experienced.

And there I am writing along in 2015 and my beloved husband tells me that you, Jon, quit. I told him right away that it must be something to do with the awards from Omaze, from helping out with the troops. I was crazy. I was totally affected. It was during reading break in February and I could not study. I could not eat, I could not sleep. I might have been going manic and the shows were off for a week and I survived by the grace of God.. I didn't know anything other than the fact that this TV speaking to me has gone too far. I had to pull myself together and finish the semester and think about what everything meant.

Everything meant that somehow in this life, I as ... had been spoken to by the TV, reacted to what the TV was saying by writing back on a blog, twitter or google+ and this was having some effect. I started to see the power of the word, spoken or written. Because of things I believe you were talking to me through the TV, I was able to better myself. I have a purpose every morning, be it even to watch a show. A show that makes me laugh, makes me face my fears, makes me grow, makes me call my mum! Really, so much of my heart burdens have rolled away. I have healed so much interacting with you Jon and others. God sent you to me. If this is not what TV was meant to do, then I don't know what.

Today, I heard that you let go a 50 million dollar contract. That is nothing to sneer about. God forgive me. For any part I played in making you decide to leave, I am sorry. That was never my intention. I was hoping you would always be on The Daily Show and I would always be typing something in response. Dunia kweli ina mambo.

For making a way for me to be involved with Omaze, the veterans and autism, I say thank you. I love you so much and I must say it was a quite the ride. Pamoja.

I would like to join you in your other causes. I love to work with you. Oh, you never answered my question of how we can get in touch with you - maybe you don't want that. Oh well.

I remember (Feb 1998) I have been put over night at the Victoria Police Station twice, both cases regarding immigration Canada. The first night I was there I was quickly put in a cell. In the morning immigration officer Sharon Smith (I believe) said to me that if I left on my own, there would be no charges against me - and of course. She gave me a month to leave. It was very stressful until Rita Kozma of facebook helped in the right path to finding a lawyer I was awarded the best lawyer in town Sir Peter Golden. The best of the best. Quite the ally that Rita. (I remember like a dream Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA), helping me and suggesting Sir Peter Golden as a lawyer. Added Sunday April 5, 2015. 6:56 PM). The second time a month later when immigration Canada and RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) early 1998, I was asking for a phone to call my lawyer. Both times I was never read my rights. The first time, I was in my bath room before they took me away saying to myself, after they had questioned me, 'self,

You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you.

(tulikuwa tumesoma). This ain't fair. this second time, I was shown where the phone was and they locked me in that room for more than a couple of hours. I yelled and screamed and started to throw my whole weight on the door before someone heard me and I told them how I needed a wash room bad. They let me use the wash room as they spoke about how they forgot about me. Imagine. They were saying to me that I could have called any number in the world...The police who responded when I had to go to the mental hospital were all good but one. Tagging at my handcuffed arms like I was a tiger. Made me want to run.

Back to the immigration scene. The second time from the police station, I was put in a van with officer Sal and Ross McNeil. They did not tell me where we were going. The cop who acted as the good cop was not there. They put me in the back of the van and drove to Vancouver. Even on the ferry we were in the van. I just sang away at the music from the radio. Ross told me how his wife had an AIDs scare, I think she is a nurse. I was taken to the Comfort inn near the airport and was detained for six days before trial or what the court thing was. My grandmother Muthoni died at this time and I believe her and the immigration officer who called my lawyer and the Creator and my dead kid all had something to do with my freedom. Anyhuu, I taught Ross' kid about HIV/AIDs in her school and she came up to me and told me her father was an immigration officer and when asked his name, it was Ross OMG!!

Immigration Canada, gave me a bail of $1000 in '98 painful payment... John Oliver substantiates.

I was supposed to pay a bond for $1000. I called a lady I used to clean for houses and they told her she would never see her money, telling her that I am a drug addict. She left. I called Kerry Callaway who went and paid regardless of what immigration was saying. That is how I got saved - besides all odds.

Putin Sends Obama an Independence Day Message

MOSCOW — Russian President Vladimir Putin called for dialogue based on equal treatment and mutual respect with the United States on Saturday in a congratulatory message to President Barack Obama marking U.S. Independence Day.

Putin said U.S.-Russian relations remained important for solving global crises. The two countries have disagreements over the conflict in Ukraine, defense matters and democracy.

"In his message of congratulations, the Russian President noted that, despite the differences between the two countries, Russian-American relations remain the most important factor of international stability and security," the Kremlin said in a statement.

Putin expressed confidence that Russia and the U.S. could find solutions to the most complicated international issues and meet global threats and challenges together if they based their relationship on the principles of equality and respect for each other's interests, the Kremlin added.

The statement did not provide further details and did not mention Western sanctions imposed over Russia's role in the Ukraine crisis and Moscow's annexation of Crimea peninsula from Ukraine in 2014. Everybody should read an article called "The Clash of Civilizations?" It was one of my readings for the course: Racialization and Ethnicity, Sociology 335, UVIC. The article is by Samuel P. Huntington

And it reads...in part and I quote:

"...Differences in culture and religion create differences over policy issues, ranging from human rights to immigration to trade and commerce to the environment...

...Conflict along the fault line between Western and Islamic civilizations has been going on for 1,300 years...

...the interaction between Islam and the West is seen as a clash of civilizations...

...In East Asia, China has outstanding territorial disputes with most of its neighbors. It has pursued a ruthless policy toward the Buddhist people of Tibet, and it is pursuing an increasingly ruthless policy toward its Turkic-Muslim minority. With the Cold war over, the underlying differences between China and the United States have reasserted themselves in areas such as human rights, trade and weapons proliferation. These differences are unlikely to moderate. A "new cold war," Deng Xaioping reportedly asserted in 1991, is under way between China and America.

The same phrase has been applied to the increasingly difficult relations between Japan and the United States. Here cultural differences exacerbates economic conflict. People on each side allege racism on the other, but at least on the American side the antipathies are not racial but cultural. The basic values, attitudes, behavioral patterns of the two societies could hardly be more different. The economic issues between the United States and Europe are less serious than those between United States and Japan, but they do not have the same political salience and emotional intensity because the differences between American culture and European culture are so much less than those between American civilization and Japanese civilization...
